Josephine

Ho comprato un fumetto francese che mi è piaciuto molto, Joséphine di Pénelope Bagieu (30 anni). In realtà l'avevo già letto tutto a scrocco in Feltrinelli, ma ho deciso di comprarlo lo stesso, e questo vi dice tutto. La protagonista è una single trentenne col culone che lavora in un ambiente creativo e competitivo, ma che non sa bene cosa fare della propria vita. Viene subito in mente Bridget Jones, e infatti il paragone, nelle recensioni su internet compare puntualmente. Con Bridget, Joséphine condivide il sense of humor e la critica sociale sia ai trentenni di oggi sia alle pressioni sociali che subiscono per essere belli e realizzati in ogni ambito della loro vita. Forse Josephine è un po'meno ingenua...ma non poi tanto. L'umorismo non è pesante e alla freschezza del fumetto contribuisce il tratto, che ho apprezzato molto. Anche se è pulito e tondeggiante rimane un disegno adulto, con un che di underground e artistico tipicamente francese (o forse sono io che mi faccio dei trip assurdi).

Il fumetto ha debuttato sul blog dell'autrice, che linko a fondo pagina. L'ho sfogliato solo marginalmente perché è in francese, che io non capisco, quindi non vi posso dare grandi informazioni in proposito. Di Josephine in Francia sono usciti 3 volumi più una raccolta che li comprende tutti. In Italia si trova solo il primo, che costa 11€. Su Amazon l'originale in francese costa molto di più. Spero solo che la Hop! Pubblichi anche gli altri!!! Ma dalle recensioni in internet pare abbia avuto successo e in tal caso è probabile.

I bought a French comic book that I loved, Josephine, by Penelope Bagieu (30 years). Actually I read it on the scrounge in the bookshop, but I decided to buy it anyway, and this tells you everything. The main character is a thirty year old single with a big ass who does a creative and competitive work, but doesn't know what to do with her life. Bridget Jones comes immediatly to mind, and indeed the comparison appears regularly in the internet reviews. With Bridget, Josephine shares the sense of humor and social criticism both towards today's thirty year olds and the social pressures to be beautiful and realised in every area of ​​their lives. Josephine is perhaps a little less naive...but not much. The humor isn't heavy and the drawing, which I appreciated, contributes to the freshness of the comics. Although it remains a clean, rounded style, it's anyway adult, with something underground and typically French (or maybe I just go on absurd mental trips). The comic debuted on the author's blog, which link you can find at bottom of the page. I flipped trough it only marginally because it is in French, that I do not understand, so I can't give you great information about it. In France were published 3 volumes of Josephine, plus a 3-volume collection that includes them all. In Italy was published only the first, which costs 11 €. On Amazon the original in French is much more expensive. I just hope that the others will be edited too! But from the reviews on the internet this comic seems to have been successful and if so, is probable.
