Oggi ospito un post diverso dal solito per promuovere l'interessantissima (e decisamente meritevole) ricerca sulle fantasie sessuali di una mia vecchia amica. Vi lascio alla sua spiegazione e al sito usato dai due ricercatori per raccogliere i dati, su cui troverete ulteriori informazioni sulla ricerca. Mi raccomando, diffondete questo progetto anche sui social, è veloce da fare, ma aiuta ad indagare un argomento di cui in Italia si parla ancora molto poco!

Gaycation

"Gaycation" è un documentario U.S.A. del 2016 condotto dall'attrice Ellen Page (diventata famosa con "Juno") e da Ian Daniel, il suo migliore amico, un produttore, regista, scrittore e curatore. "Gaycation" fa parte del programma di lancio di "Viceland", il nuovo canale di Vice Media. L'idea del programma è venuta a Spike Jonze, il co-presidente di "Viceland" (e regista di meraviglie come "Lei") e alla Page.

Il documentario è attualmente composta da due serie da 4 episodi da 45min circa. La seconda comprende anche uno speciale.

La serie segue la Page e Daniel mentre incontrano persone ed esplorano località diverse per farsi un'idea delle culture LGBTQ in vari paesi del mondo. 

Le mete della prima serie sono il Giappone, il Brasile, la Giamaica e gli Stati Uniti. La seconda inizia con una puntata speciale ambientata ad Orlando dopo la sparatoria omofoba e prosegue in Ucraina, India, Francia e nel profondo sud degli U.S.A.

Questa serie mi è stata consigliata dalla fumettista Patrizia Mandanici, con cui ho avuto la fortuna di scambiare qualche parola dopo l'incontro sui personaggi lesbici nel fumetto italiano a cui ho assistito durante Bookcity.

Ho cominciato a vederla incuriosita dalla puntata sul Giappone e l'ho trovata estremamente ben fatta, così ho deciso di andare avanti.
Dal titolo mi aspettavo un programma molto più caciarone e divertente, un po' sullo stile di "Turisti per caso" (di recente ho provato a riguardare la loro puntata sul Giappone e mi veniva da piangere per l'ignoranza, anche se la prima volta mi ero divertita). Invece "Gaycation" è estremamente serio: mostra sì la vita notturna e i divertimenti, ma intervista anche persone vittime di discriminazioni e non solo. Ellen e Ian hanno il coraggio di intervistare anche persone anti-LGBTQ, leader di movimenti anti-LGBTQ e addirittura persone che hanno attivamente ucciso persone LGBTQ.
Dei due, Ellen è quella che parla di più, ma Ian è la persona che si mette più in gioco fisicamente. Le ultime due puntate della seconda stagione sono condotte solo da Ian che riesce benissimo a gestirle da solo.
I due presentatori hanno l'aria dei timidoni e non sono particolarmente carismatici, ma il loro impegno e il loro coinvolgimento emergono chiaramente e riescono a realizzare un prodotto di grande qualità che è riuscito a farmi commuovere quasi ad ogni puntata (e io non ho la lacrima facile).
Ho trovato questa serie molto ben fatta ed educativa (nei limiti di un documentario breve) e la consiglio assolutamente.

"Gaycation" is a 2016 U.S.A. documentary conducted by the actress Ellen Page (who became famous with "Juno") and by Ian Daniel, his best friend, a producer, director, writer and curator. "Gaycation" is part of the launch program of "Viceland", the new Vice Media channel. I began to watch it intrigued by the episode about Japan and I found it very well done, so I decided to go ahead.
From the title I expected something happier and more superficial. Instead "Gaycation" is extremely serious: it shows the nightlife and entertainments, but also interview victims of discrimination and not only. Ellen and Ian have the courage to interview anti-LGBTQ people, leaders of anti-LGBTQ movements and even people who actively killed LGBTQ people.
Of the two, Ellen talks more, but Ian puts himself on the line more on a physical level. The last two episodes of the second season are conducted only by Ian who did a great job even alone.
The two hosts look shy and are not particularly charismatic, but their commitment and their involvement clearly emerge and they are able to make a high quality product that managed to move me almost every episode (and I don't tear up easily).
I found this series very well done and educational (within the limits of a short documentary) and
I definitely recommend it.

Food Wars! Battaglie culinarie/Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma

"Food Wars! Battaglie culinarie" (in originale "Shokugeki no Soma") è un manga shōnen a tema cucina tuttora in corso, pubblicato da 2012 sul Weekly Shōnen Jump. Per ora conta 14 volumetti.

E' sceneggiato da Yūto Tsukuda e disegnato da Shun Saeki. I due autori collaborano con una vera chef, Yuki Morisaki, che fornisce le ricette per la serie.

Da questo fumetto è stata tratta una serie di light novel e un adattamento anime del 2015 che per ora è costituito da 24 episodi da 25 minuti ciascuno.

Questa è la storia: Sōma Yukihira è un ragazzo di quindici anni che sogna di rilevare la tavola calda di famiglia, dove lavora insieme al padre Jōichirō. I due fanno interminabili battaglie culinarie in cui il figlio irrimediabilmente perde. Quando Sōma si diploma alle medie, però, suo padre chiude la tavola calda e sparisce all'estero, lasciandogli i moduli per iscriversi alla durissima scuola di cucina Tōtsuki, dove solo il 10% degli studenti riesce a conseguire il diploma ogni anno. Sōma prende l'invito come una sfida.

Di per sé la storia è un classico dello shōnen: abbiamo per protagonista un ragazzo adolescente che deve combattere mille battaglie sempre più dure per diventare il più forte in qualcosa.

Anche i personaggi sono piuttosto stereotipati: abbiamo il solito protagonista puro di cuore e determinato con grandi occhioni e una pettinatura ispida, la ragazza tsundere, quella timida con le treccine e così via. Eppure in qualche modo risultano tutti interessanti. Ci sono anche dei personaggi italiani e la loro pronuncia nell'anime è estremamente divertente.

Il disegno non è niente di particolare, ma le scene di cucina sono rese in maniera estremamente dinamica, come vere e proprie battaglie e i piatti disegnati sembrano davvero appetitosi.

La particolarità quest'opera è il tema culinario e come viene trattato. Sembra un po' uno di quei programmi di cucina in cui i concorrenti si sfidano e vengono giudicati da chef cattivissimi.

Ma il lato davvero originale è un altro. Infatti la bontà dei piatti causa orgasmi gustativi che vengono visualizzati con vestiti che si strappano e chiappe al vento, insomma, con un sacco di fanservice. Per fortuna, pur essendo uno shōnen, oltre alle tette giganti c'è spazio anche per begli uomini discinti, fra cui anche capelloni (sapete quanto li adoro!).

Inoltre le ricette vengono spiegate allo spettatore (ovviamente meglio nel manga, dove viene loro dedicata una sezione alla fine) che volendo può provarle!

Sarà il cibo, saranno i capelloni, ma l'anime mi ha preso così tanto che me lo sono guardato in due giorni e ora sto divorando il manga che per ora è praticamente identico.

"Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma" (in the original "Shokugeki no Soma") is an ongoing cooking themed shonen manga, published in 2012 in Weekly Shonen Jump. By now it consist of 14 volumes.

It is written by Yuto Tsukuda and drawn by Shun Saeki. The two authors work with a real chef, Yuki Morisaki, who provides the recipes for the series.

This comic was adapted into a series of light novels and an ongoing anime started in 2015 which for now consists of 24 episodes of 25 minutes each.

This is the story: Soma Yukihira is a fifteen year old boy who dreams to take over his family's diner, where he works with her father Jōichirō. The two make endless culinary battles in which the son always looses. When Soma graduates from middle school, however, his father closes the cafeteria and disappears abroad, leaving only the forms to enroll into the tough cooking school Tōtsuki, where only 10% of students obtain a diploma every year. Soma takes it as a challenge.

By itself, the story is a classic of shōnen: it stars a teenage boy who has to fight a thousand increasingly hard battles to become the strongest in something.

Even the characters are rather stereotypical: we have the usual pure hearted and determined protagonist with big eyes and a shaggy hairdo, the tsundere girl, the shy with braids one and so on. Yet somehow they are all interesting. There are also Italian characters and their pronunciation in the anime is extremely funny.

The drawings are nothing special, but the cooking scenes are made in a very dynamic way, like real battles and the dishes seem truly tasty.

The special thing about this work is the culinary theme and how it is treated. It seems a little like one of those cooking shows in which contestants have to compete and are judged by nasty chefs.

But the really original is side another. In fact, the goodness of the dishes cause gustatory orgasms that appear with clothes tear off by themselves and naked buttocks in the wind, in short, with lots of fanservice. Fortunately, despite being a shonen, besides the giant boobs there is also room for good-looking naked men including even long haired ones (you know how much you love them!).

Besides the recipes are explained to the audience (obviously better in the manga, where there is a dedicated a section at the end) that in this way can try them!

It can be the food or the long haired boys, but this anime involved me so much that I watched it in two days and now I'm eating up the manga that for now is essentially identical.

The almighty Johnsons - season 1

The Almighty Johnsons è una serie tv neozelandese. Per ora è costituita da 3 stagioni, di cui la prima ha 10 episodi e le altre due 13. La durata di ciascun episodio varia dai 43 ai 45 minuti.
Il protagonista è Axl Johnson, un ragazzo senza grandi qualità (anzi, un po'pirla) che il giorno del suo ventunesimo compleanno viene portato nel bosco dai suoi tre fratelli e dal cugino fricchettone Olaf per la celebrazione di un rituale di famiglia. Scopre così che lui e gli altri uomini della famiglia sono reincarnazioni di divinità nordiche. Il problema è che non hanno pieno accesso ai propri poteri, che potranno essere ripristinati completamente solo da Odino, che si è reincarnato proprio in Axl. Ma Odino stesso, per avere i propri poteri deve prima trovare la reincarnazione di sua moglie Frigg e, se morirà prima di averla trovata, tutta la sua famiglia morirà con lui. Cosa che non appare così improbabile quando si scopre che anche alcune dee sono sulle tracce di Frigg e che sono disposte a tutto pur di arrivare per prime.
Questa è la prima serie tv neozelandese che ho visto in vita mia (in effetti sembra essere quella che ha avuto distribuzione più ampia a livello mondiale). All'inizio sono rimasta un po' schifata dai personaggi che pensano solo a sbronzarsi e fare sesso (c'è almeno una scena gratuita di sesso in ogni episodio) e dalla stupidità del protagonista e ho pensato di lasciare perdere.
Poi però mi ha appassionato. Non so nemmeno esattamente spiegare perché. Sicuramente la ricerca di Frigg diventa più interessante di puntata in puntata (anche se alcuni colpi di scena sono scontati). Forse è per via dell'umanità dei personaggi, presi in mezzo fra i problemi quotidiani e quelli, divini che emerge lentamente. Sta di fatto che voglio vedere la seconda serie, anche perché la prima ha un finale aperto (interessante, benché prevedibile).

The Almighty Johnsons is a New Zealand TV series. At the moment it consists of 3 seasons, the first of which has 10 episodes and the other two 13. The duration of each episode varies is between 43 and 45 minutes.
The protagonist is Axl Johnson, a guy without great qualitied (quite stupid, indeed) that the day of his twenty-first birthday is brought into the woods by his three brothers and his hippie cousin Olaf for the celebration of a family ritual. He discovers that he and the other men of the family are reincarnations of Norse gods. The problem is that they do not have full access to their powers, which will be fully restored only by Odin, who has been reincarnated in Axl. But Odin himself, to have his powers must first find the reincarnation of his wife Frigg, and if he dies before he finds her, his entire family will die with him. A thing that becomes not so unlikely when the brothers discover that some goddesses are also on the trail of Frigg and are willing to do anything to get there first.
This is the first New Zealand TV series that I've seen in my life (in fact it seems to be the one that has had the wider distribution worldwide). At first I was a bit disgusted by the characters who only think to get drunk and have sex (there is at least a free sex scene in every episode), and the stupidity of the main character and I thought I'd pass up.
But then I become fond of it. I do not know exactly why. Surely the search for Frigg gets more interesting from episode to episode (although some twists are predictable). Perhaps it is because of theslowly emerging humanity of the characters, caught in the middle between everyday problems and divine ones. The fact is that I want to see the second season, also because the first has an open ending (interesting, albeit foreseeable).

"Sex tape" (sottotitolato "Finiti in rete" nella versione italiana) è un film del 2014 con Cameron Diaz e Jason Segel (famoso soprattutto per il suo ruolo come Marshall in How I met your Mother). Fa una comparsata fantastica anche il buon vecchio Jack Black.

Il film racconta la storia di una coppia sposata con figli che tenta di riaccendere la passione di una volta riprendendosi con l'I-pad mentre fa sesso. Ma i due sottovalutano il potere del cloud, infatti per sbaglio il video viene condiviso con una serie di I-pad di loro amici e conoscenti, nonché con quello del direttore della compagnia con cui lei vorrebbe stipulare un contratto. Comincia un'assurda corsa contro il tempo per recuperare il video.

E' una commedia stupida, leggera, piena di turpiloquio e con un sacco di scene di sesso e di nudo (senza genitali però, i nudi integrali sono solo da dietro). Non apprezzo l'umorismo volgare, ma ho trovato questo film molto divertente. In particolare c'è una scena con un cane che mi ha fatto ridere fino alle lacrime (spoiler: il cane non è coinvolto in nessuna attività sessuale). E grazie al cielo manca una vera e propria morale, come spesso se ne trovano nelle commedie statunitensi. Anzi, il finale è strepitoso.

Consigliato per una serata estremamente leggera e un po'allusiva con amici o fidanzati.

"Sex Tape" is a 2014 film starring Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel (best known for his role as Marshall in How I Met Your Mother). Good old Jack Black makes a fantastic appearance too.

The film tells the story of a married couple with children who try to reignite the ancient passion making a sex tape with their I-pad. But the two underestimate the power of the cloud, in fact accidentally the video is shared with a number of  their friends and acquaintances' I-pads, as well as with that of the director of the company with which she would like to sign a contract. So begins an absurd race against time to retrieve the video.

It's a stupid comedy, light, full of foul language and with a lot of sex scenes and nudity (no genitals, however, full naked bodies are only from behind). I do not appreciate vulgar humor, but I found this film very funny. In particular, there is a scene with a dog that made me laugh to tears (spoiler: the dog is not involved in any sexual activity). And thankfully it lacks a real moral, as often can be found in American comedies. Indeed, the ending is amazing.

Recommended for an extremely light and a bit naughty evening with friends or girl/boyfriends.

3 fumetti di Lewis Trondheim/3 comics by Lewis Trondheim

Grazie al mio professore di sceneggiatura ho potuto leggere gli ultimi fumetti di Lewis Trondheim editi dalla Proglo edizioni. Lewis Trondheim è un fumettista e disegnatore francese molto produttivo che ha cominciato la sua carriera come grafico.

"Le avventure della fine dell'episodio", di Lewis Trondheim e Frank Le Gall ironizza sui finali a sorpresa dei gialli classici di inizio '900 in uno stile simile a quello del bellissimo film "Invito a cena con delitto" di Robert Moore. Dei tre è senz'altro il mio preferito.

"La nuova pornografia" è un esercizio di stile in cui il sesso viene ridotto agli elementi grafici fondamentali (vedi copertina) e ogni pagina deve essere decifrata. L'idea è geniale, ma secondo me su un volume più lungo avrebbe finito per annoiare.

"Imbroglio" gioca di nuovo sul giallo con tre personaggi estremamente contorti che si sfidano in un susseguirsi di trappole e intrighi. Dei tre libretti è quello che mi è piaciuto meno, ma è comunque estremamente carino e originale.

Li consiglio tutti e tre, anche perché sono brevi e hanno un costo contenuto e quindi sono un ottimo modo di avvicinarsi all'autore per la prima volta.

Thanks to my script professor I could read the latest comic book by Lewis Trondheim published by Proglo edizioni. Lewis Trondheim is a really productive French cartoonist and illustrator who started as a graphic designer.

"The Adventures at the end of the episode", by Lewis Trondheim and Frank Le Gall jokes about the surprise endings of classic '900 mistery books in a style similar to that of the great movie "Murder by Death" by Robert Moore. Of the three is definitely my favorite. 

"The new pornography" is an exercise in style in which sex is reduced to its graphics core (just look at the cover), and each page must be deciphered. The idea is great, but I think on a longer volume it would become boring. 

"Deception" again plays on the mistery with three extremely twisted characters who compete in a series of traps and intrigues. Of the three comics is the one I liked the least, but it's still very nice and original. 

I would recommend all three of them, because they are short and therefore are a great way to get closer to the author for the first time, but I don't know if they are available in other languages and in which edition.

Sin City: una donna per cui uccidere/Sin City: a dame to kill for

Dopo quasi 10 anni di attesa è uscito Sin City: una donna per cui uccidere, il secondo film di Robert Rodriguez tratto dalla serie a fumetti Sin City di Frank Miller.

Il primo è uno dei miei film preferiti in assoluto, quindi sono andata al cinema carica di aspettative. Il mio responso: una vera delusione.

Fin dall'inizio ho trovato che qualcosa fosse fuori tono: troppo colore e bianchi e neri troppo poco contrastati, mentre il primo film era in bianco e nero netto con pochi tocchi di colore. Musica non memorabile e lasciata troppo in sottofondo. Cambi di attore per interpretare alcuni personaggi (primo fra tutti Dwight, ma anche Manute e Miho).
Ma qualcosa era fuori posto anche ad un livello più profondo. Le inquadrature e le battute erano quelle del fumetto, ma mancava lo spirito del primo film. C'erano troppi episodi troppo simili, con irruzioni in casa del cattivo di turno e picchiaggi vari. Mentre nel primo i buoni faticavano per ottenere quello che volevano e spesso nel processo perdevano qualcosa di estremamente importante, qui era tutto troppo facile, le scelte e le azioni non erano abbastanza sofferte e mancava del tutto il peculiare romanticismo del primo film. C'era anche qualcosa di non molto chiaro nella continuity. In più il meraviglioso personaggio di Marv era declassato ad arma invincibile al servizio del primo che passava.
Tornata a casa ho scoperto che due degli episodi che si intrecciano in questo capitolo erano stati scritti da Miller apposta per il grande schermo. Non mi ha stupito che uno dei due fosse quello che ho trovato più fuori dallo spirito del primo film, quello che vede protagonista la spogliarellista Nancy. Invece mi ha sorpreso che l'altro fosse quello che ha per protagonista un giovane baro, perché l'ho trovato perfettamente in linea con lo spirito dell'opera originale.
Se siete fan del primo film o del fumetto potete vederlo per curiosità, ma fatevi un favore: non spendete i soldi del cinema, o almeno non del biglietto intero.
Se invece non avete visto il primo film, avete un deca e una serata libera andate pure a vederlo al cinema, ma dopo recuperatevi il primo.
Ah, giusto, un altro motivo sensato per vederlo, per chi apprezza, sono le tette di Eva Green, che le tiene al vento per il 90% del tempo in cui è sullo schermo.

After nearly 10 years of waiting came out Sin City: a dame to kill for, the second film by Robert Rodriguez based on the comic book series Sin City by Frank Miller. 
The first is one of my favorite movies ever, so I went to the cinema full of expectations. My verdict: a real disappointment. 
From the beginning I found something was out of tune: too much color and plain whites and blacks, while the first film was in contrasted black and white with few touches of color. The music was not memorable and was left too much in the background. There were changes of actors to play some of the characters (most notably Dwight, but also Miho and Manute). 
But something was out of place even at a deeper level. The frames and the lines were those of the comic, but lacked the spirit of the first film. There were too many episodes that were too similar, with raids in the house of the bad guy and beatings. While in the first the good guys had to struggle to get what they wanted and often in the process lost something very important, here was all too easy, the choices and actions were not suffered enough andthe peculiar romance of the first film was also lacking. There was something not very clear in the continuity too. In addition, the wonderful character of Marv was downgraded to invincible weapon at the service of the first that passed by. 
Back home, I discovered that two of the episodes that intertwined in this chapter were written by Miller ​​for the big screen. I was not surprised that one of them was the one I found the farer from the spirit of the first film, the one starring the stripper Nancy. Instead I was surprised that the other was the one that had as its protagonist a young cheater, because I found it perfectly in line with the spirit of the original work. 
If you're a fan of the first film or of the comic you can watch it out of curiosity, but do yourself a favor: do not spend the money of the cinema, or at least not of the full ticket. 
If you have not seen the first film, you have some money and a free evening, you can go to watch it at the cinema as well, but after please catch up with the first. 
Ah, right, another sensible reason to see it, for those who appreciate this stuff, are Eva Green's tits, that are nacked for 90% of the time she is on the screen.

La staniera/Outlander (Diana Gabaldon)

La mia personale visione del libro/My interpretation of the book

La Straniera è il primo di una saga di 8 libri scritta dalla statunitense Diana Gabaldon. E' stato pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1991 e successivamente è diventato un CD musicale e questo agosto anche una serie TV.

La protagonista è Claire, un'infermiera che alla fine della seconda guerra mondiale si ricongiunge finalmente al marito Frank con cui decide di trascorrere una seconda luna di miele nelle Highlands scozzesi. Ma, mentre sta raccogliendo erbe vicino ad un misterioso cerchio di pietre, si ritrova misteriosamente catapultata a metà 1700. Cominciano così le sue avventure fra i clan scozzesi in guerra fra loro e con gli inglesi, nonché una nuova storia d'amore.

Ho trovato e recuperato questo romanzo ad un evento di scambio gratuito di libri perché la saga della Gabaldon piace moltissimo ad una mia amica d'infanzia, che me l'ha consigliata parlandomene come di una sorta di fantasy romantico e avventuroso. In realtà di fantasy c'è ben poco oltre al salto temporale e in definitiva l'ho trovato una sorta di harmony. Non è brutto di per sé (ha anche vinto un premio per i romanzi d'amore), però il personaggio maschile principale è veramente esagerato: bellissimo, innamoratissimo, coraggiosissimo, vergine, votato a sacrificare la vita per la protagonista...oltre a questo è abbastanza irritante tutto l'interesse che i personaggi maschili in generale manifestano verso Claire e avrei fatto a meno di qualche descrizione dei due innamorati che copulano come conigli.

A questo punto più che al seguito (che se trovassi gratuitamente potrei comunque leggere) sono interessata alla serie TV che potrebbe risultare molto appassionante e correggere alcuni dei difetti del libro. Ovviamente il fatto che abbiano scelto quel figone di Sam Heughan come protagonista maschile non c'entra niente.

Outlander is the first of a series of eight books written by the U.S.A. writer Diana Gabaldon. It was published for the first time in 1991 and later became a music CD and this August even a TV series. 

The protagonist is Claire, a nurse who at the end of World War II is finally reunited with her ​​husband Frank whith whom she decided to spend a second honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands. But, as she is gathering herbs near a mysterious stone circle, she finds herself mysteriously catapulted in mid-1700. So begin her adventures among the Scottish clans at war with each other and with the British, as well as a new romance. 

I found and recovered this novel at an event of free books exchange because the saga is really loved by one of my childhood friend who recommended it to me talking about it as a sort of romantic fantasy full of adventures. In reality there is very little fantasy in addition to the time jump, and ultimately I found it mainly a romance book. It's not bad per se (it even won an award for romance novels), but the main male character is really exaggerated: beautiful, disperately in love, brave, virgin, voted to sacrifice his life for the main character... plus is quite irritating that all the male characters in general have an interest for Claire and I would have done without some description of the two lovers copulating like rabbits. 

At this point more than the following (if I could find it for free I may read it, though) I'm interested in the TV series that could be very exciting and correct some of the flaws of the book. Obviously the fact that they chose the beefy Sam Heughan as the male protagonist has nothing to do with it.

Dan Savage

Probabilmente sono una dei pochi che ancora non conoscevano Dan Savage e la sua rubrica sul sesso "Savage Love", pubblicata in italiano su internazionale, in cui risponde alle domande dei lettori. Le domande vertono sui temi più disparati: problematiche relazionali, di gender, amorose, fisiche...e a me piace moltissimo come le affronta, in modo pratico (è molto attento anche alla prevenzione delle malattie) e cercando di essere il più mentalmente aperto possibile (anche se ogni tanto critica fortemente persone con cui non è d'accordo).

Tagliando corto, sto diventando una drogata al punto che mi sto leggendo tutti gli articoli arretrati. E sto imparando un sacco di parole nuove (e dire che avendo studiato abbastanza l'antropologia del sesso pensavo di saperne tante).

Probably I'm one of the few who still didn't know Dan Savage and his column about sex "Savage Love", in which he answers questions from readers. The questions focus on topics as diverse as relational, gender, love, physical  problems... and I really like how he faces them, in a practical way (he is also very attentive to the prevention of diseases) and trying to be as open-minded as possible (even if sometimes he is highly critical of people with whom he disagrees). 

Cutting short, I'm getting addicted to the point that I'm reading all the back articles. And I'm learning a lot of new words (as I studied gender anthropology I thought I already knew many).

Vacanza/Vacation

Questa settimana sarò in vacanza (più disintossicazione da computer), per cui non potrò rispondere ai commenti, ma sarà comunque pubblicato ogni giorno un post della serie "30 days of comics". Non ho ben chiari nemmeno i miei programmi per agosto (il lato positivo della disoccupazione è il tempo per andare in vacanza), ma vi terrò aggiornati. A presto ^^

Gli amanti passeggeri/I'm so excited

Gli amanti passeggeri è un film del 2013 di Almodòvar, uno dei miei registi preferiti. Nel film troviamo alcuni dei temi classici del regista: omosessualità, amore, sesso, paranormale e...persone addormentate (sì, è un tema).
Non è un film da vedere con la nonna bacchettona o i bambini piccoli, ci sono scene abbastanza spinte di sesso (sia eterosessuale sia omosessuale) e i personaggi bevono e si drogano in abbondanza.
L'ho trovato carino, ma non è al livello di altri film di Almodòvar, manca di profondità.
Trama: un aereo diretto da Madrid a Città del Messico ha un incidente con il carrello ed è costretto a girare in tondo aspettando che siano approntate le condizioni per un atterraggio di emergenza. Nel frattempo, complice la situazione, emergono i segreti più intimi di equipaggio e passeggeri.


I'm so excited is a 2013 film by Almodóvar, one of my favorite directors. In the film, we find some of his classic themes: homosexuality, love, sex, paranormal and...sleeping people (yes, it's a theme).
It is not a movie to watch with a bigoted grandmother or small children, there a lot of racy sex scenes (both heterosexual and homosexual) and the characters take drugs and drink a lot.
I found it nice, but not at the level of other Almodóvar films as it lacks depth.
Plot: a plane from Madrid to Mexico City has an accident with the landing gear and is forced to go round in circles waiting for the conditions for an emergency landing. Meanwhile, thanks to the situation, the most intimate secrets of the crew and passengers start to emerge.

Cartoomix + Hobbyshow

Vi ricordo che da oggi a domenica a Milano, nel polo fieristico di Rho fiera si terranno due manifestazioni molto interessanti: cartoomix e l'hobby show.

Cartoomix è una delle fiere del fumetto più vitali e interessanti di Milano. Come al solito oltre che ai fumetti e ai cartoni la fiera è dedicata anche al collezionismo, al fantasy, ai film, alla fantascienza e ovviamente saranno presenti cosplay (so già che ce ne saranno di spettacolari) e stand di vestiario e oggettistica.

Saranno presenti anche ospiti come Bermejo, famoso disegnatore della Dc Comics, Powell, autore di the Goon, Max Pezzali (?), Tito Faraci. In più ci saranno mostre su Iron Man, Eva Kant, il fumetto erotico e Tolkien, oltre a una serie di altri eventi per cui vi rimando al sito ufficiale

In abbinata c'è Ludica, la fiera del gioco e del videogioco con cui condivide gli spazi.

Sempre nella stessa struttura e con lo stesso biglietto si può accedere all'Hobby show, una fiera dell'hobbistica (sul genere decoupage, scrapbooking, biedermeier, rock painting, bijoux, punto croce, mezzo punto, filet, patchwork e quilting, pittura su tessuto e seta, lavorazione della ceramica, incisione, lavorazione del vetro) in cui si può comperare materiale per i propri hobby (a prezzi non proprio competitivi in genere),  ma anche assistere ad eventi e seguire corsi di vario tipo.

L'impostazione è un po'sessista, nel senso che come idea è dedicata alle donne e si abbina a una serie di eventi (noiosissimi) per donne, ma soprassediamo...

Qual è il modello per il maschio giapponese fra i 30 e i 40? Il “choi waru oyaji”, che si potrebbe tradurre all'incirca come "faccia da schiaffi di mezz'età", l'"ikedan", ovvero il "marito figo", una figura mitologica emersa dalle riviste femminili, e Girolamo Panzetta, un italiano che in Giappone è famosissimo e ha fama di rubacuori.
Secondo un recente sondaggio fatto in Giappone, dal 2010 ad oggi le vendite di riviste di moda per uomini fra i 30 e i 40 anni sono aumentate tantissimo, anche se le riviste che rientrano nella categoria sono solo cinque: Leon, la più famosa, con cui collabora anche Panzetta, Oceans, Uomo, Men's ex e 2nd. Questa tendenza si è ripercossa anche in un impatto positivo nell'industria dell'abbigliamento.
Forse la causa è l'aumentare degli appuntamenti in massa, come i "machicon", party per single, o forse gli uomini vogliono solo fare felici le mogli o prendersi cura di sé, ma comunque non ci sperate, secondo i sondaggi gli uomini giapponesi sono sempre meno interessati al sesso, tanto che i media continuano a coniare nuovi termini per descrivere il problema: dopo i "sōshoku-kei danshi", i cosiddetti "uomini erbivori", con un gioco di parole arrivano gli "zesshoku-kei danshi", gli "uomini a digiuno".

Si parla di vampiri, ma più che un fantasy è un libro di fantascienza: infatti nel mondo di Vampirus il vampirismo è una malattia a trasmissione sessuale! Un'altra delle geniali idee di Westerfeld.

Cal, come milioni di giovani studenti, era più interessato a divertirsi che al corso di biologia per il quale si era trasferito a New York dal Texas. Oggi, dopo una notte con Morgan, una ragazza misteriosa e affascinante incontrata in un bar, la biologia è diventata la sua unica via di salvezza. Il rapporto con Morgan gli ha infatti trasmesso un parassita temibile, quello del vampirismo. Per fortuna Cal risulta essere un portatore sano: non si trasforma dunque in un cannibale impazzito, pur conservando un robusto appetito di carne, ma si ritrova dotato di sensi acuiti, forza e velocità sovrumane, anche se con una caratteristica piuttosto frustrante: una costante eccitazione sessuale. Un dramma per il ragazzo, che non può concedersi neppure un bacio se non vuole contagiare altre ragazze innocenti. Assoldato da un'antichissima organizzazione segreta che si occupa di tenere sotto controllo altri vampiri infetti come lui, i pip, ovvero i "parassita-positivi", Cal ha il compito di rintracciare le sue ex fidanzate, ormai contagiate, e catturarle perché possano essere curate (dal sito della Feltrinelli)

La storia è narrata attraverso il punto di vista gradevolmente ironico di Cal. C'è parecchia azione, ma sesso e violenza sono ad un livello accettabile da qualcunque genitore (purtroppo o per fortuna?). Il peggio è qualche dettaglio vagamente disgustoso sui parassiti davvero esistenti.
Anche se la storia è indirizzata ad un pubblico "giovane", il target è più adulto di quello de I diari della mezzanotte.
Non è un libro particolarmente profondo, ma è interessante, divertente e promuove il sesso sicuro.
Ha un seguito, Apocalypse Vampirus, che recensirò prossimamente (comunque vi anticipo che è decisamente peggiore).

Two days after arriving in New York for college, Cal loses his virginity to a girl who picks him up. From this encounter Cal picks up an STD, but this is an unusual one: it turns its victims into "peeps" -- parasite positives—raving cannibalistic monsters with unusual strength, night vision, heightened senses, and an affinity with rats. Cal himself turns out to be immune, but he's a carrier—he gets the strength and senses without the nasty side effects. But before he knows it he has infected others.
Cal is recruited by the Night Watch, a secret government organization that has existed for centuries to contain the disease and its victims. His first assignment is to capture all the girls he's infected. But soon Cal realizes that there is more going on than he has been told: the disease is changing in response to mysterious forces from under the earth that are waking up after centuries of slumber (from Wikipedia).

The story is told through the pleasantly ironic point of view of Cal. There is a lot of action, but sex and violence (unfortunately or fortunately?) are at a level acceptable by any parent. The worst are some vaguely disgusting details about actually existing parasites.
Although the story is addressed to a"young" audience, the target is more adult than that of "Midnighters".
This book is not particularly deep, but it is interesting, fun and promotes safe sex.
It has a sequel, Apocalypse Vampirus, which I'll rewiew later (anyway I'll tell in advance that it's considerably worst).

Mia madre mi ha portato da un corso di aggiornamento in Inghilterra un ombrello bellissimo (assomiglia a quello che ho perso in Giappone), un simpatico segnalibro peloso e del cheddar rosso, che adoro, ma in Italia non trovo mai.

My mother took me a beautiful umbrella (looks similar to the one I lost in Japan), a cute hairy bookmark and some red cheddar, which I love, but never find in Italy, from a refresher course in England.

Il mio ragazzo, visto che il primo mi era piaciuto, mi ha regalato gli altri due romanzi della trilogia della Carey incentrata sulla figura di Phédre, una prostituta sacra con tendenze masochiste derivanti da una predestinazione divina, che viene addestrata ad essere una spia.

L'ambientazione è fighissima: il paese della protagonista è Terra d'Ange, una sorta di Francia che venera il figlio di Gesù e della Maddalena, Elua, il cui unico comandamento è "ama a tuo piacimento". Nella serie si incontano altre realtà ucroniche: la repubblica della Serenissima venera Baal-Iuppiter e Asherat, la dea del mare, il cristianesimo è rimasto una setta ebraica e così via. Tutti questi dei intervengono effettivamente nel romanzo (forse anche un po'troppo). Invece la parte spionistica non è male nel primo romanzo, ma è debole negli altri due (la protagonista ad un certo punto va in giro a chiedere dov'è la sua pericolosissima nemica a persone che probabilmente la stanno nascondendo, un genio), che sono migliori come romanzi di avventura. Anche la storia d'amore del primo romanzo non è niente male, mentre nel seguito non ci sono sviluppi particolarmente interessanti.

Le scene di sesso ovviamente sono per la maggior parte S&M. Io non le trovo malaccio, ma secondo una mia amica sono troppo poco particolareggiata, e un'altra mia amica non leggerà la trilogia perché c'è del sesso sadomaso. Bè, io vi ho avvertito.

Alla prima trilogia fa seguito una seconda che non ho letto, che ha per protagonista un personaggio maschile già comparso nella saga. Anche la prima non era incredibile, era piuttosto carina, quindi ci sto facendo un pensierino.

My boyfriend, as I liked the first, bought me the other two novels of Carey's Kushiel trilogy, centered on the figure of Phedre, a sacred prostitute with masochistic tendencies arising from a divine predestination, who is trained to be a spy.

The setting is a cool medieval alternate history: the main character's country is Terre d'Ange, is a kind of France that worships the son of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, Elua, whose only commandment is "love as you please". The republic of Venice worships Baal-Jupiter and Asherat, the goddess of the sea, Christianity is still a Jewish sect, and so on. All of these gods are effectively involved in the novel (maybe a little too much). Instead, the spy story is not bad in the first novel, but weak in the other two (the protagonist at one point goes around asking where her most dangerous enemy is to people who probably are hiding her, a genius), which are best as adventure novels. The love story of the first novel is not bad, but there are no particularly interesting developments in the following.

The sex scenes are obviously mostly S&M. I didn't find them bad, but according to a friend of mine they aren't enough detailed, and another friend of mine won't read the trilogy because there is sadomasochistic sex. Well, I've warned you.

The first trilogy, is followed by a second which I have not read, that has as its protagonist a male character already appeared in the saga. Even if the first wasn't amazing, it was nice enough, so I'm thinking about reading the second.

30 giorni di anime e manga: Giorno 19

Una serie che all’inizio non ti piaceva, ma che poi hai apprezzato. Parasite Pal di Takumi Ishida. L'ho iniziata per noia al mare e mi sembrava troppo incentrata sul sesso e con personaggi un po' piatti. Anche i disegni non mi convincevano. Invece con il proseguire della trama mi ci sono appassionata, giungendo ad apprezzare sia il tono naïf sia il disegno (in particolare vestiti e pettinatura della protagonista, che sono fra lo sportivo e il mori).
Trama: Komaki, una liceale, un giorno sogna un alieno che entra nel suo corpo. Al risveglio si ritrova un olfatto sviluppatissimo e in più l'alieno non se n'è andato e anzi comunica telepaticamente con lei! Cosa vuole l'alieno? Ci saranno altre persone come lei? Perché il suo olfatto sembra essere particolarmente sensibile all'odore...del sesso?

A series that you did not like the beginning, but then you appreciated. Parasite Pal by Takumi Ishida. I started it out of boredom at the seaside and I tought it was too focused on sex and it's characters were quite flat. Even the drawings did not convince me. Instead, continuing with the storyline I got involved with it, coming to appreciate both the naive tone and the drawings (especially the clothes and hairstyle of the protagonist, that are half sporty and half mori).

Synopsis: Komaki, a high schooler, one day dreams of an alien who enters her body. She awakes finding to have a highly developed sense of smell, and that the alien has not departed and even communicates telepathically with her! What does the alien want? Are there other people like her? Why does her sense of smell seem to be particularly sensitive to the smell of...sex?

Hysteria

 Versione ridottissima e si spera antispoiler: un film sull'invenzione del vibratore in epoca vittoriana. Sia l'amore sia il femminismo non soddisano completamente, ma si ride tutto il tempo. Assolutamente da vedere.
Versione contenente potenziali spoiler: Epoca vittoriana. Un giovane dottore viene scacciato continuamente dagli ospedali perchè tenta di applicare i metodi della medicina moderna. Finalmente trova un nuovo posto di lavoro nello studio di uno specialista in isteria, che cura le pazienti tramite...massaggi alla vulva!!! Il dottore ha due figlie, la minore, che sembra l'incarnazione di ogni virtù dell'inghilterra vittoriana, e la maggiore che è una suffragetta ribelle con idee "pericolose". Il dottore è stato allevato da una famiglia altolocata il cui figlio è un eccentrico appassionato di tecnologia (nientemeno che Rupert Everett).
Da queste premesse nasce un film divertentissimo. La storia d'amore è costruita su basi un po'labili e le pretese femministe finiscono per ridursi alla sfera del sesso, ma si ride tutto il tempo. Assolutamente da vedere.

Reduced version, hopefully without spoilers: a movie about the invention of the vibrator in Victorian times. Whether love and feminism aren't dealed with in a completely satisfating way, but I laughed all the time. A must see.
Version that contains potential spoilers: Victorian era. A young doctor is chased away from hospitals because he tries to apply the methods of modern medicine. Finally he finds a new job in the office of a specialist in hysteria, who treats patients through...massages of the vulva! The doctor has two daughters: the youngest, seems the embodiment of all virtues of Victorian England, and the older is a suffragette rebel with "dangerous" ideas. The doctor was brought up by a prominent family whose son is a quirky tech enthusiast (none other than Rupert Everett).
This premise has created a really funny movie. The love story is built on weak foundations and the feminism is reduced to the sexual sphere, but I laughed all the time. A must see.

Girovagando per i blog ho scoperto l'esistenza del food porn, ovvero del porno alimentare. In soldoni il termine principalmente indica una presentazione spettacolare del cibo attraverso i mass media (per approfondomenti rimando a wikipedia. La versione italiana è una traduzione mal fatta di quella inglese, se avete un minimo di conoscenza della lingua consiglio la seconda).
Così ho scoperto di essere una consumatrice di porno alimentare, soprattutto in caso di dieta. E visto che da giovedì prossimo mi darò da fare per eliminare il grasso invernale ho deciso di condividere con voi la mia pornografia preferita dei miei cibi preferiti con le varianti stagionali.

Surfing around the blogs I discovered the existence of food porn. In short it is a spectacular presentation of food trough the media (if you want to know more there's a good explanation on wikipedia). So I discovered I actually am a food porn consumer, specially when I'm on a diet.
