Anche quest'anno ho deciso di dedicare un post ai miei outfit preferiti dell'anno passato (qui trovate il post del 2015 e qui quello del 2016). L'idea mi è venuta da un post di Amy Townsend di She Might Be a Fairie, che a sua volta si è ispirata a Sary di The Walrus Room. Entrambe hanno raccolto i loro outfit preferiti dell'anno passato, si sono fatte delle domande in proposito e si sono poste degli obbiettivi stilistici per l'anno successivo.

Per il secondo anno di seguito ho fatto molta fatica a scegliere i miei outfit preferiti, quindi suppongo di essere sempre più contenta del mio stile (anche se ovviamente ho avuto dei periodi più sciatti).

Come mi sento riguardo al mio stile del 2017?

Mi piace un sacco! In particolare ho riscoperto i gilet e le magliette a maniche lunghe e ho avuto un debole i look da hobbit/lord inglese di campagna.

Da settembre ho iniziato a lavorare in un ambiente in cui non posso dare libero sfogo alla fantasia, il che è un limite, ma anche uno stimolo a cercare di vestirmi comunque in modo interessante e aggirare le regole attraverso i dettagli.

Cosa dice di me?

Di sicuro mi faccio notare, me l'ha detto la barista al lavoro e ho anche sentito due colleghe ridacchiare per un mio colletto di pizzo gigantesco. Il che non è necessariamente un male! Ho fatto amicizia con un'altra collega perché ha scoperto che sono una fan di Harry Potter attraverso la mia collana giratempo (io la chiamo scrematura alla base).

Ho realizzato i miei obiettivi di stile per il 2017?

Ho realizzato i miei obiettivi per il 2017 continuando con il mio ideale mix di vintage finto-serio, accessori assurdi e stampe bislacche. Ho anche definitivamente fatto pace con i pantaloni, forse troppo.

Quali sono i miei obiettivi di stile per il 2018?

Temo che siano gli stessi del 2015 perché, dopo un buon 2016, l'anno scorso sono tornata sulla cattiva strada: comprare meno vestiti nuovi (e di meno in generale) e creare di più (anche se ho veramente poco tempo...).

This year too I decided to dedicate a post to my favorite outfits of the past year (here's the 2015 post and here the 2016 one). The idea came from a post by  Amy Townsend of She Might Be a Fairie, which in turn was inspired by  Sary of The Walrus Room. Both collected their favorite outfits of the past year, asked themselves some questions about them and wrote stylistic goals for the following year.

For the second year in a row I had a hard time choosing my favorite outfits, so I suppose I'm happier and happier with my style (although obviously I had shabby periods).

How do I feel about my 2017 style?

I like it a lot! In particular, I rediscovered vests and long-sleeved T-shirts and had a soft spot for hobbit/English country gentlemen looks.

From September I started working in an environment where I'm not able to wear all I would like, which is a limitation, but also an incentive to try to dress in an interesting way anyway and bypass the rules through the details.

What does it say about me?

Surely I stand out, as the barmaid at work told me and I even heard two colleagues giggle for one of my gigantic lace collars. Which is not necessarily bad! I made friends with another colleague because she found out I'm a Harry Potter fan through my timeturner necklace (I call it pre-qualifying).

Did I realize my 2017 style goals?

I achieved my goals for 2017 by continuing with my ideal mix of fake-serious vintage, absurd accessories and quirky prints. I also definitely made peace with pants, maybe even too much.

What are my 2018 style goals?

I'm afraid they are the same of 2015 because, after a good 2016, last year I fell back into bad habits: I'd like to buy less new clothes (and less clothes in general) and create more (even if I have really little time...).

L'idea mi è venuta da un post di Amy Townsend di She Might Be a Fairie, che a sua volta si è ispirata a Sary di The Walrus Room. Entrambe hanno raccolto i loro outfit preferiti dell'anno passato, si sono fatte delle domande in proposito e si sono poste degli obbiettivi stilistici per l'anno successivo.
Quest'anno ho fatto molta fatica a scegliere i miei outfit preferiti (il che suppongo sia positivo), per cui sono più di quelli del 2015.

Come mi sento riguardo al mio stile del 2016?

Mi piace molto! Sono riuscita a raggiungere il mix di vintage finto-serio, accessori assurdi e stampe bislacche che volevo e a trovare una silhouette che mi dona. Nei miei outfit, fra stampe, accessori e qualche capo, ho tante cose fatte a mano . La percentuale di vestiti usati è piuttosto alta (circa 6 degli outfit che ho scelto sono composti esclusivamente da vestiti usati e solo 4 unicamente da capi comprati nuovi).
Ho anche fatto una serie di acquisti e swap di cui sono estremamente soddisfatta e che sto sfruttando parecchio.

Cosa dice di me?

La gente ha iniziato a chiedermi se sono un'artista basandosi sul mio abbigliamento. Direi che è un buon risultato!

Ho realizzato i miei obiettivi di stile per il 2016?

I miei obiettivi erano aumentare la percentuale di vestiti usati comprati rispetto a quelli nuovi, continuare a creare vestiti e accessori, sviluppare un rapporto migliore con i pantaloni e ripulire il mio armadio dai capi che uso meno.
Ho ricominciato a usare i pantaloni con gioia dopo aver scoperto che quelli vintage a vita alta non mi cadono. Penso anche di avere aggiunto al mio guardaroba più vestiti usati che nuovi. Ho creato parecchi accessori, ma pochi vestiti. In compenso ho stampato molto su quelli che già avevo. L'obiettivo andato peggio, prevedibilmente, è stato ripulire l'armadio.

Quali sono i miei obiettivi di stile per il 2017?

Visto che sono così soddisfatta, suppongo che l'obiettivo sia continuare su questa linea di pseudo-vinage, vita alta, stampe e accessori bizzarri. Ora che l'ho detto di sicuro cambierò completamente gusti nel giro di un anno.

This year I found really hard to choose my favorite outfits (which I suppose is positive), so there are more than those of 2015.

How do I feel about my 2016 style?

I like it very much! I managed to reach the mix of mock-serious vintage, absurd accessories and funny prints that I wanted and I found a silhouette that suits me. In my outfits I have many handmade things, including prints, accessories and some piece of clothing. The percentage of used clothes is quite high (about 6 of the outfit I chose are composed exclusively by used clothes and only 4 only by clothes I bought new).

I also made some purchases and swaps of which I'm extremely satisfied and that I'm using a lot.

What does it say about me?

People looking at my clothing started to ask me if I am an artist. I would say that it is a good result!

Did I realize my 2016 style goals?

My goals were to increase the percentage of used clothes purchased over the new ones, to go on making clothes and accessories, to develop a better relationship with trousers and to clean up my closet giving away the clothes I use less.
I started to use trousers with joy after discovering that the high waisted vintage ones don't fall from my hips. I also think I added to my wardrobe more used clothes than new. I created several accessories, but not many clothes. But on the other hand I printed a lot on those that I already had. The goal that went worst, predictably, has been cleaning up my closet.

What are my 2017 style goals?

Since I'm so happy about my 2016 style, I suppose that my goal is to continue on this line of pseudo-vinage, high waist, quirky prints and accessories. Now that I've said it, I will surely completely  change tastes within this year.

Entrambe hanno raccolto i loro outfit preferiti dell'anno passato, si sono fatte delle domande in proposito e si sono poste degli obbiettivi stilistici per l'anno successivo.

Da un po' di tempo volevo fare una raccolta dei miei outfit preferiti dell'anno precedente, ma ero spaventata dalla loro quantità. Il post di Amy mi ha dato la scossa giusta.

I wanted to do a collection of my favorite outfits of the previous year for some time, but I was scared by their quantity. Amy's post convinced me to do it.

Alla fine ho scelto 12 outfi senza tenere conto di mesi o stagioni. Nella scelta sono sicuramente stata influenzata dal periodo dell'anno in cui siamo e dal mio umore della giornata, ma direi che è inevitabile. A questo punto non resta che rispondere alle domande di Amy e Sary.

Come mi sento riguardo al mio stile del 2015?

Mi piace! Trovo che esprima molto bene la mia personalità e lo trovo più coerente di quello che pensavo, visto che ho tanti riferimenti diversi.

Guardando il mio 2015 in generale e questi outfit in particolare, mi accorgo di vari cambiamenti. Ho abbandonato sempre di più mori, che è stato il mio stile preferito negli ultimi anni, ma anche l'etnico e il goth-punk, che amo dall'adolescenza, in favore di uno stile che definirei più "vintage".

La vita segnata (alta) è prevalente, mentre nel periodo mori mettevo quasi solo vestiti ad A. E' rilevante anche che gli outfit primaverili ed estivi siano più degli altri perché una volta la mia stagione preferita era l'autunno (e sono ancora convinta che i colori autunnali siano quelli che mi stanno meglio).

La mia mania per il pizzo è in calo, ma sempre presente. Il mio amore per il giallo e per i vestiti usati (più ecologicamente corretti di quelli nuovi) invece è in crescita.

I punti fermi sono i vestiti comodi, la prevalenza delle gonne sui pantaloni (e comunque dei pantaloni corti su quelli lunghi, grandi assenti del post) l'ossessione per le stampe particolari, lo scozzese, e gli accessori e i vestiti fatti a mano.

Cosa dice di me?

Penso che i cambiamenti nel mio stile siano il riflesso dei cambiamenti nella mia vita: sto crescendo, ho più lavoro, più responsabilità e in definitiva entro pochi anni sarò costretta ad ammettere di essere un'adulta. Da questo deriva la fascinazione per il vintage, più serio e appropriato per un contesto lavorativo, ma non noioso. Le linee retrò però vengono vivacizzate dai colori accesi e da stampe e accessori bizzarri e spesso infantili. In sostanza mi rendo conto di stare diventando grande, ma mi rifiuto di diventare noiosa.

Quali sono i miei obiettivi di stile per il 2016?

Sono un po' restia a proclamare obbiettivi stilistici per il 2016 perché in questi casi finisco spesso per contraddirmi. Piuttosto che fare proclami sulla forma quindi mi concentrerò sulla sostanza. Vorrei aumentare la percentuale di vestiti usati comprati rispetto a quelli nuovi, continuare a creare vestiti e accessori, sviluppare un rapporto migliore con i pantaloni e ripulire il mio armadio dai capi che uso meno (in questo faccio molta fatica).

I finally chose 12 outfits, not taking in consideration the months or seasons. In choosing them I certainly influenced by the time of year and my mood of the day, but I would say that it is inevitable. At this point I just have to answer Amy and Sary's questions.

How do I feel about my 2015 style?

I like it! I find that it expresses my personality very well and I find it more consistent than I thought, since I have so many different references.

Looking at my 2015 in general and at these outfits in particular, I notice several changes. I left mori, that was my favorite style in recent years, more and more but also ethnic and goth-punk, that I loved from when I was a teenager, in favor of a style that I would call more "vintage".

A marked (high) wais is prevalent, while in my mori years I favoured A line clothes. It's also important that spring and summer outfits are more than the others as once my favorite season was autumn (and I'm still convinced that autumn colors are those that fits me better).

My craze for lace is decreasing, but always present. My love for yellow and used clothes (more environmentally correct than new ones), instead, is growing.

The fundamental points are still comfortable clothes, the prevalence of skirts on pants (and in any case of shorts on long ones, that aren't even featured in this post), my obsession with distinctive prints, plaud, and handmade accessories and clothes.

What does it say about me?

I think the changes in my style are a reflection of the changes in my life: I'm growing, I have more work, more responsibilities and ultimately in a few years I'll have to admit being an adult. Hence the fascination for vintage, that is more serious and appropriate for a working context, but not boring. The retro lines are enlivened by bright colors and bizarre and often childish prints and accessories. Basically I realize I'm growing up, but I refuse to get boring.

I'm a little reluctant to proclaim style goals for 2016 because in these cases I often end up contradicting myself. So, rather than making claims on the form I will focus on the substance.
