Cartoomix 2016

Lo scorso sabato io e la Pelosa Metà siamo andati a Cartoomix, la fiera del fumetto che si tiene annualmente a Milano a marzo.

Lo scorso anno ci ero passata solo velocemente perché avevo passato gran parte della giornata al vicino Hobby Show, la fiera dell'hobbistica che in genere si tiene in concomitanza. Nonostante questo mi era piaciuta e avevo fatto qualche bell'acquisto.

Quest'anno invece è andata al contrario: l'Hobby Show ha rimesso il biglietto d'ingresso a pagamento, per cui l'ho snobbato a favore di Cartoomix. Speravo di trovare qualche gadget di "Zootropolis" o qualche nuovo fumetto interessante. Però non ho trovato niente di speciale e mi sono stancata tantissimo. Ho comprato solo "Ritratto dell'eroe da giovane", un numero di Pk che avevo perso. Anche il mio piano di farmi autografare dagli autori "Il Porto Proibito" è andato in fumo quando, a metà della fila lentissima, mi è venuto un mal di schiena piuttosto forte e ho deciso di lasciar perdere. Forse sto diventando troppo vecchia per queste cose...

La giornata è stata salvata dall'aver visto degli amici che non incontravo da un pezzo e dall'altissima qualità dei cosplay (a cui purtroppo le mie foto non rendono giustizia).

Last Saturda my Hairy Half and I went to Cartoomix, the comic fair held annually in Milan in March.

Last year we visited it only quickly because I spent most of the day at the nearby Hobby Show, the hobby fair which usually is held at the samen time. Despite that I liked it and I did some good purchases.

This year, it was the opposite: I didn't go to Hobby Show because it had an entrance fee again, fso I only wento to Cartoomix. I was hoping to find some "Zootropia" gadget or some exciting new comic. But I didn't find anything special, and I got really tired. I bought only an issue of Pk that I had lost. Even my plan to get the authors of  "Il Porto Proibito" to autograph my copy went up in smoke when, halfway through the slow queque, my back started to hurt and I decided to leave. Maybe I'm getting too old for these things...

The day was saved by seeing friends I didn'n meet from a lot of time and by the very high quality of the cosplays (to which unfortunately my photos don't give justice).

Quest'anno quando ho deciso di fare una vignetta a tema per il blog ho provato a pensare alla cosa che mi spaventava di più e subito mi è venuta in mente la dieta! Più che una vignetta di Halloween sembra una vignetta della mia vecchia serie Diet Comics (che trovate cercando qui), per fortuna con uno stile migliore, visto che è passato un po' di tempo.

This year when I decided to do a themed cartoon for the blog I tried to think about the thing that scared me the most and I immediately came up with diet! More than an Halloween cartoon it looks like one of my old Diet Comics series (you can find it searching here), luckily with a better style, since some time passed.

Cartoomix 2015

Ammetto che quest'anno ho girato Cartoomix un po' velocemente perché io e il mio fidanzato eravamo già stanchi per aver passato la mattinata all'Hobby Show.

C'erano un sacco di bravissimi cosplayer e di esposizioni interessanti, ma io sono riuscita a fotografare solo questi.

I admit that this year I visited Cartoomix, a nice comic convenction near Milan, a little fast because my boyfriend and I were already tired from having spent the morning at the craft fair.

There were a lot of talented cosplayers and interesting exhibits, but I was only able to take pictures of these.

Per quanto riguarda le merci in vendita, anche quest'anno c'era di tutto e di più: gadget, cibo, giochi in scatola, accessori, vestiti e quest'anno anche giochi di prestigio.

Le bancarelle che vendevano fumetti erano un numero limitato e la maggior parte vendeva a prezzo pieno. Onestamente ero troppo stanca e c'era troppa folla per ravanare alla ricerca di occasioni.

As for the goods on sale, this year there was a little bit of everything: gadgets, food, board games, accessories, clothes and this year even magic tricks.

The stalls selling comics were a limited numbrer and most of them sold at full price. Honestly I was too tired and there was too much crowd to rummage looking for bargains.

Ho giusto preso un poster gratuito di "Yamada-kun e le 7 streghe", un manga di Miki Yoshikawa edito dalla Star Comics che mi sta piacendo molto e una maglietta. La maglietta, con raffigurata la mappa del malandrino (una citazione di Harry Potter), è, come quella che ho preso l'anno scorso, di MusShop e l'ho pagata 10€.

I just got a free poster of "Yamada-kun and 7 witches", a manga by Miki Yoshikawa that I'm liking it a lot, and a t-shirt. The t-shirt, depicting the Marauder's Map (a quote from Harry Potter), is, like the one I bought last year, by MusShop and I paid it 10€.

A posteriori rimpiango molto di non avere comprato anche questa di Cyrano Comics, visto che mi sono accorta solo dalle foto che anche questa costava solo 10€ (alle fiere del fumetto il prezzo medio è 15-20€ e quindi in genere non guardo nemmeno). Prossima volta.

In retrospect, I regret not having bought this one by Cyrano Comics too, as I realized only from the photos that it costed only 10€ (at comics convenctions the average price is 15-20€ so I usually do not even look at t-shirts). It will be for next time.

Cartoomics '14

Lo scorso weekend c'è stato Cartoomics, una delle migliori fiere del fumetto di Milano e dintorni.

Ho deciso di andarci soprattutto per vedere degli amici. Rispetto al solito mi è parso ci fosse meno gente, il che era un po' triste, ma ha reso il tutto più vivibile. D'altronde 13€ (10 con lo sconto) per entrare in una fiera in cui fare acquisti sono tanti, considerando anche che poche bancarelle fanno sconti davvero interessanti.

Quest'anno c'era una mostra sui Peanuts non incredibile, dove però c'erano un gonfiabile e una statua di Snoopy carinissimi.

Last weekend there was one of the best comic conventions in and around Milan,  Cartoomics. 

I decided to go there mainly to see friends. It seemed there were less people than usual, which was a bit sad, but it made all more enjoyable. On the other hand 13€ (10 with discount) to enter into a fair in which to shop are a lot, considering that few stalls have really interesting discounts. 

This year there was an exhibition about Peanuts that wasn't amazing, but where there was a cute air staue and a small statue of Snoopy.

Al solito, le bancarelle di gadget erano tante quanto quelle di fumetti se non di più.

Alcune però erano molto carine, in particolare questa di MusShop dedicata ad Harry Potter dove ho fatto una montagna di acquisti per conto della bambina a cui do ripetizioni, fan sfegatata della saga di HP...

As usual, gadget stalls were as many as comic ones if not more. 

Some, however, had really nice stuff, especially this MusShop one dedicated to Harry Potter where I made a mountain of purchases on behalf of the child to whom I give private lessons, who is a big fan of the HP saga...

...e io e la Pelosa Metà, da bravi fidanzati sdolcinati ci siamo comprati due magliette uguali, quelle della burrobirra (stupende!)

C'erano anche le solite bancarelle di gioiellame kawaii. La zona fantasy era particolarmente suggestiva.

There were also the usual stalls of kawaii jewels. The fantasy area was particularly striking.

I miei acquisti! Non ho comprato tantissimo, perché dopo lo shopping folle all'Hobby Show (di cui vi racconterò in seguito) mi mancavano i fondi.

Ho comprato un volume dedicato a Crumb, un autore classico dell'underground americano, Nostalgia, un volume unico consigliatomi dalla mia amica V-chan e Che aria tira a..., un volume dedicato alle vignette di Silvia Ziche con protagonisti i personaggi Disney. Adoro la Ziche, quindi non potevo lasciarmelo sfuggire.

Il mio compagno di banco del corso di fumetto, sapendo che sono una fan di Rat-Man, mi ha anche regalato la shopper a tema che ha ricevuto in omaggio *W* E' stato carinissimo

My purchases! I did not buy much, because after shopping at the Hobby Show (of which I will tell you later) I lacked the funds. 

I bought a book dedicated to Crumb, an underground classic U.S.A. author, a single volume my friend V-chan told me was nice and Che aria tira a...,a volume dedicated to Silvia Ziche starring Disney characters . I love Ziche, so I had to buy it. 

My classmate in the comic class, knowing that I am a fan of Rat-Man, I also gave me the themed shopper he has received as a freebie *W* He was really nice

Quest'anno ho fatto pochissime foto di cosplayer, anche se ce ne erano di particolarmente belli!

This year I took very few pictures of cosplayers, even if there were particularly beautiful ones!

Il più appariscente era quello di questa ragazza sui trampoli che ha messo in piedi un vero e proprio spettacolino con musica, laser e fumo. In realtà non ho capito se fosse un cosplay o la pubblicità di qualcosa ^^'

The most striking was this girl on stilts who has set up a little show with music, lasers and smoke. In fact I did not understand if it was a cosplay or an advertisement of something ^^'

Per l'occasione ho deciso di indossare la maglietta di Peace Now che ho comprato in Giappone e non metto mai. Ma l'outfit migliore era quello della mia amica V-chan, che si è vestita lolita!

For the occasion, I decided to wear the Peace Now shirt that I bought in Japan, and seldom wear. But the better outfit was my friend's V-chan's, who dressed in full lolita!

Cartoomics, Hobby Show & Mymusic

Da venerdì 14 a domenica 16 marzo a Rho Fiera Milano si terrà Cartoomics, una delle più belle fiere del fumetto di Milano e dintorni. Il biglietto intero costa 13€, ma scaricando lo sconto lo si paga 10€ e prenotando i biglietti online 9€. Il venerdì i cosplay entrano gratis. Trovate tutte le informazioni sul sito ufficiale.
Il biglietto d'ingresso di Cartoomics include anche l'ingresso a Mymusic, la fiera dedicata alla musica che si tiene nello stesso complesso fieristico.

A Rho Fiera Milano negli stessi giorni si tiene anche l'Hobby show, una fiera dell'hobbistica in cui si possono seguire corsi (di recente ne hanno fatti molti di decorazione di torte) e comprare materiale creativo, ad esempio materiale da scrapbooking, materiale per gioielli, gomitoli, tessuti...i prezzi non sono molto bassi, ma anche per questo vale assolutamente la pena di andare a questa edizione perché l'INGRESSO è GRATUITO, cosa che per quanto ne so non è mai successa prima.

Scopro di essermi persa Leo Ortolani per un soffio. Per consolarsi niente di meglio di una pizza con gli amici.

Dopodiché torniamo al bellissimo appartamento che abbiamo affittato a Viareggio e crolliamo come sassi.

I discover I missed Leo Ortolani by a whisker. To console me there's nothing better than a pizza with friends.

Then we return to the beautiful apartment we rented in Viareggio, and fall asleep.

Sabato/Saturday

La mattina partecipo come membro del nostro collettivo ad un evento della Self Area che consiste nella realizzazione sul momento di un fumetto di grandi dimensioni.

The next morning I participate as a member of our collective to a Self Area event, which consists in the creation of a large comic on the spot.

Verso l'ora di pranzo finalmente ho finito la mia vignetta, che ho realizzato tutta ad acrilico. Che fatica!

At lunch time I finally finished my part, that I realized all with acrylic. What an effort!

Nel primo pomeriggio provo finalmente a girare un po' la fiera con Mizusoup, ma la pioggia fa scappare la gente nei padiglioni e si crea una tale calca che non riusciamo a vedere quasi niente.

Mi consolo grazie al raduno di blogger organizzato da Acalia Fenders :D Oltre a lei, che avevo già incontrato, c'erano Yue Lung, Hermès Athens e soprattutto Nyu Egawa e Ann Meri, che abitando dalla parte opposta dell'Italia non avrei mai pensato di riuscire a incontrare!!!
E' stato molto divertente riuscire a conoscere tutti dal vivo. Ho anche scroccato senza alcun pudore a Nyu i mitici biscottini della Kellog's che avevo invidiato sul suo blog ;P

In the early afternoon I try to finally visit a bit the fair with Mizusoup but the rain scares people who enter all the stands and it creates such a crowd that we can't manage to see almost anything.

I console myself with the bloggers gathering organized by Acalia Fenders :D In addition to her, who I had already met, there were Yue Lung, Hermès Athens and especially Nyu Egawa and Ann Meri that living on the opposite side of Italy I never thought to be able to meet!

It was great fun getting to know them in real life. I also scrounged shamelessly to Nyu the legendary Kellogg's cookies that I envied on her blog; P

Arrivata la sera saluto i blogger, dedico un minimo di tempo allo stand e poi vado a mangiare fuori con gli altri membri del collettivo, incontrando dei cavalieri jedi.

When evening falls I leave my fellow blogger, I spend a minimum of time at the stand and then I go out to eat with the other members of the collective, meeting jedi knights on the road.

Domenica/Sunday

Dopo l'inquietante diluvio della prima mattinata, inaspettatamente esce un sole bellissimo.

Leo Ortolani deve essere mio! Dopo ore di fila, anche se non ho il bigliettino (sono arrivata prestissimo, ma erano già esauriti), riesco a farmi autografare la nuova edizione di La lunga notte dell'investigatore Merlo. Avrei voluto comprare anche Ratolik, la parodia di Diabolik, ma era esaurito. Vabbè, più ciccia per la mia fumettara.

After the disturbing rainfall of the early morning, unexpectedly appears a beautiful sun.

Leo Ortolani must be mine! After hours in a row, even though I haven't the note (I arrived early, but they were already sold out), I can get his autograph on the new edition of  La lunga notte dell'investigatore Merlo (The Long Night of private eye Blackbird). I wanted to buy also Ratolik, the parody of Diabolik, but it was sold out. Oh well, more money for my comic shop.

Arriva la Pelosa Metà e mi defilo per girare per bene con lui la fiera (che praticamente non ho ancora visto). E' la giornata degli acquisti più folli.

Evitiamo giusto il Japan Palace, davanti a cui c'è una coda spropositata. Non riusciamo ad entrare nemmeno nella sezione Games perché la PM ha perso chissà come il biglietto e anche se ha il braccialetto, i controlli sono molto fiscali. Peccato, avremmo voluto vedere lo stand di Feudalesimo e Libertà.

The Hairy Half arrives and I duck out to explore the fair (which practically I have not yet seen) with him. It 's the craziest purchases day.

We avoid the Japan Palace, in front of which there is a queue out of proportion. We can not even enter the Games section because the HH has somehow lost his ticket and even if you have the bracelet, the controls are very strict. Too bad, we wanted to see the stand of Feudalesimo e Libertà.

Non sono riuscita ad assistere a nessun incontro, ma nessuno può togliermi le mostre, alloggiate nel bellissimo palazzo ducale. Alcune sono fuffate, altre davvero belle. In particolare mi emoziona vedere le tavole originali di Kylion, una miniserie Disney che mi piaceva moltissimo, ma che ha chiuso al tredicesimo numero.

I was not able to attend any meeting, but no one can take me away from the exhibits, housed in the beautiful ducal palace. Some are crap, others are really beautiful. In particular, I'm excited to see the original drawings of Kylion, a Disney series that I liked very much, but that finished only with the thirteenth issue.

Alle 16 partiamo sperando di non trovare troppo traffico. Speranza vana! Le canzoni dei cartoni non bastano a spezzare la stanchezza e la noia delle code chilometriche. Dopo avere riaccompagnato qualche amico, io e la PM arriviamo a casa che sono le 23. Ci consoliamo con una super spaghettata di mezzanotte e crolliamo addormentati. Ci aspetta un lunedì da zombie.

At 16 we leave hoping not to find too much traffic. Vain hope! The cartoon songs are not enough to break the fatigue and boredom of traffic jams. After taking home a few friends, I and the HH arrive at home at 23pm. We console ourselves with super midnight spaghetti and we fall asleep. A zombie Monday expect us.
