Ora abbiamo cominciato Breaking Bad...
Desperate Housewives is an American TV series created by Mark Cherry that consists of eight seasons, which aired from 2004 to 2012 for a total of 180 episodes of 45 minutes each. It's a series that won many awards and was a huge success worldwide.
It focuses on the lives of four women, the clumsy artsy and moralist Susan, the selfish and spoiled former model Gabrielle, the traditionalist and prissy Bree and the authoritarian former career woman Lynette. The four are great friends and live in the residential neighborhood of Wisteria Lane. In addition to them from time to time various characters of the neighborhood gain importance. In the various series the four protagonists, in addition to their problems and those of their families, have to deal with the crimes and mysteries hidden behind therespectability aura of the neighborhood.
Generally I do not like shows that feature rich people who have everything, but still manage to ruin their life in improbable ways (eg OC) and also the idea of housewives didn't attract me. But the protagonists, despite having marked characters, are also human enough to allow the viewer to empathize.
However it isn't a brilliant series for the characters. Not even for the plot, which, although it is interesting, full of suspense and twists, has problems, especially in the long term (for example unlikely situations, characters and situations important in a season that disappear completely in the next and absurd deaths of some characters).
What makes this show truly worthy of being watched for all eight seasons, is the way the story is told. In fact, the events of the series, especially at the beginning and end of each episode, are presented through the narration of a character who commits suicide in the first episode of the first series, who interprets the various situations with an irony that brings out their nonsense.
I found it a brilliant and compelling series and rather than getting bored with the progress of the seasons, I had never enough of it. The only thing that bothered me was some creeping Christian morality: it is normal that the protagonists, being WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants) have a way of thinking of that type, but several times their choices seem to be the result of a moral uncritically estabilished already at the time of the script. For example, during the series a number of people get pregnant without desiring it: in the series contraceptives and morning-after pills are almost omitted, and the idea of abortion is not even mentioned. The choice is always whether to keep the baby or give him up for adoption and that the right choice is to keep him is evident from the beginning. There is an impression of this kind also on divorces, marriages, etc., but instead is given space to homosexuality.
I thank a lot again my friend Ade for making me discover this series and for watching it all again with me. Now we started Breaking Bad ...

I used to love Desperate Housewives. Later it got too plot-less and I stopped watching.
@Pepperoni: yes, the plot worsened after some time, but as I saw all the series one after another I didn't feel it so much.
