A Ottobre finalmente è davvero arrivato l'autunno, con i primi freddi (a ondate, che non sia sa mai come vestirsi), le foglie rosse e tanta pioggia.

In October autumn finally really come, with the first cold (in waves, so that people never know how to dress), red leaves and lots of rain.

Ho cominciato l'ultimo anno della mia scuola serale di fumetto, piena di entusiasmo e di buoni propositi che spero di poter mantenere.

I started the last year of my evening comics class, full of enthusiasm and good intentions that I hope to maintain.

A inizio mese ho trascorso con alcuni amici un weekend nerd sulle colline vicino al Lago Maggiore, a mangiare barbecue e al pub, giocare ai giochi in scatola e a quelli di ruolo.

Earlier this month I spent a nerd weekend with some friends on the hills near Maggiore Lake, eating barbecue and pub food, playing board games and roleplaying games.

Ottobre è stato un mese ricchissimo di fiere ed eventi. Il weekend dell'11-12 si è tenuto l'Hobby Show, una fiera dell'hobbistica, a cui ho partecipato per procurarmi materiale creativo in vista di regali e compleanni.

October was a month full of fairs and events. The weekend of 11-12th there was the Hobby Show, a craft fair, which I attended to buy creative material in view of birthday and Xmas gifts.

Lo stesso weekend c'è stato il palio medievale di Vigevano. Io, la mia Pelosa Metà e alcuni amici abbiamo partecipato alla cena medievale, che è stata carina, ma meno dell'anno scorso (forse anche perché mi hanno scelto per un numero del giullare -_-').

The same weekend there was Vigevano medieval festival. Me, my Hairy Half and some friends attended the medieval dinner, which was nice, but less than last year (maybe because I was chosen for a number of the jester -_-).

Il weekend del 18-19, io e la Pelosa Metà ci siamo autoinvitati da un nostro amico ad Alba per la fiera del tartufo bianco. Abbiamo visitato i vicini paesini di La Morra e Barolo, gli stand medievaleggianti di Alba e i resti della città romana e medievale e soprattutto abbiamo mangiato tantissimo e benissimo! E ovviamente mi sono dedicata allo shopping, stavolta alimentare. Questo mese sono stata brava e, anche se ho partecipato ad uno swap party, ho comprato solo cibo, fumetti e materiale creativo.

The weekend of 18-19th, I and the Hairy Half invited ourselves at a friend of ours' in Alba for the white truffle fair. We visited the nearby villages of La Morra and Barolo, the mediaeval stands of Alba and the remains of the Roman and medieval city and especially we ate a lot and very well! And of course, I went shopping, food shopping this time. This month I have been good, and even though I participated to a swap party, I bought only food, comics and craft supplies.

Poi è arrivato Halloween. Ho realizzato all'ultimo minuto un costume da fata/cervo/satiro con materiali di fortuna e organizzato una festa dopo due anni in cui avevo dovuto andare a scuola la notte del 31.

Anche se alla fine è venuta poca gente, mi sono impegnata molto per realizzare qualcosa di carino e con connotazioni stagionali piuttosto che orrorifiche e mi sono divertita molto.

Then arrived Halloween. At the last minute I made a fairy/deer/satyr costume with makeshift materials and I organized a party after two years in which I had to go school on the 31th night. 

Although the end few people came, I worked hard to make something cute and with seasonal rather than horrific connotations and I enjoyed it very much.

Da un punto di vista creativo, Ottobre è stato un mese positivo. Sono riuscita a dipingere e cucire qualcosina (ho fatto una sciarpa, sistemato un vestito, aggiunto le tasche a un cardigan e fatto un cappuccio, in più ho finito la gonna con le mongolfiere e la custodia del kindle che avevo iniziato in precedenza) e realizzare un bel costume di Halloween, ma, essendo stata impegnatissima non ho trovato il tempo di fare tutto quello che avrei voluto. Sto pensando di ritagliarmi uno spazio creativo settimanale anche solo di un'ora.

From a creative point of view, October has been a positive month. I was able to paint and sew a little bit (I made a scarf, fixed a dress, added pockets to a cardigan and made a hood, plus I finished the hot air baloons skirt and kindle cover I started before) and made a beautiful halloween costume, but, having been very busy I have not found the time to do everything I would have liked. I'm planning to carve out a weekly creative space, even just an hour.

Dal punto di vista del cibo, questo mese ho tentato di mangiare sano e magro e ho cucinato tantissime zuppe. Se non fosse per i weekend mangerecci sarei già rientrata nel mio peso forma (in vista delle abbuffate natalizie ;P).

From the point of view of food, this month I tried to eat healthy and light and I cooked a lot of soups. If it weren't for the feasts weekend I'd already have returned to my ideal weight (in view of Christmas' binge eating ;P).
