Quando sono andata a Barcellona nel 2013, ho comprato per 2,50€ in un negozio dell'usato questo set di camicia e gonna che all'inizio avevo scambiato per un vestito.
When I went to Barcelona in 2013,at a thrift store I bought for 2.50€ this set of shirt and skirt that at first I mistook for a dress.
La gonna è stupenda e la uso parecchio, invece non ho mai messo la camicia perché mi sono accorta troppo tardi che era bucata.
Il problema di gonne e camicie indiane è che sono fatte di un cotone sottilissimo, meraviglioso da portare d'estate, ma che si strappa facilmente e che poi è impossibile da riparare.
The skirt is beautiful and I use it a lot, however I never wore the blouse because I realized too late that it was ripped.
The problem is that indian skirts and shirts are made of a very thin cotton, that is wonderful to wear in summer, but tears easily and afterwards is impossible to fix.
Ho deciso di provare a salvare la camicia che da due anni vegetava nella mia pila di cose da cucire utilizzando quel poco che era rimasto della maglietta che avevo tagliato per fare sciarpe stampate per delle amiche.
Ho stampato l'avanzo di maglietta con il timbro a luna che avevo fatto, poi l'ho stirata per fissare il colore.
I decided to try to save the blouse, that vegetated for two years in my pile of things to sew, using the little that was left of the t-shirt that I cut to make printed scarves for my friends.
I printed the tee leftover with the moon stamp iI made, then I ironed it to fix the color.
Dopodiché ho indossato l'avanzo di maglietta sopra la camicia bucata e ho fissato tutto in posizione con degli spilli. Ho cucito insieme le due cuciture delle spalle, poi ho cucito la maglietta bianca seguendo il contorno del colletto di quella rossa e ho cucito la parte inferiore della maglietta bianca a quella rossa in modo che non si vedesse lo strappo. Invece non ho cucito la parte delle maniche.
Infine ho tagliato via parte della maglietta bianca in modo che fosse visibile il collo di quella rossa.
Non sarà la camicia più bella del mondo (e ho anche il dubbio di averla cucita un po' storta), ma almeno potrò metterla fino al prossimo strappo.
Then I wore the t-shirt leftover over the ripped blouse and I set everything in place with pins. I sewed together the two shoulder seams, then I sewed the white T-shirt following the contour of the collar of the red and I sewed the bottom of the white T-shirt to the red blouse so to cover the tear. Instead I didn't sew the sleeves.
Finally I cut off the white T-shirt so that the neck of the red blouse became visible.
It will not be the world's most beautiful shirt (and I think my sewing is a bit crooked), but at least I can wear it until the next tear.
