Insospettabili sospetti/Going in Style

"Going in Style" is a 2017 film directed by Zach Braff. I watched without knowing it is the remake of the 1979 movie of the same name, written and directed by Martin Brest.
I was attracted by the presence of Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin, who interpreted the three protagonists.
Al, Willie and Joe are three elderly friends living in the same New York neighborhood. After a lifetime of work in a factory, they have very modest pensions. Even that little is taken away by the relocation of the society they worked for.
While Joe is at his bank to protest about foreclosure of his home, the bank is robbed. This gives him an idea to get revenge for the wrongs suffered...
The story is exciting and runs smoothly, with very good timings and made more interesting by various twists. The final is predictable, but thanks to the good screenplay, it comes as a surprise.
The action scenes reflect the classical style of the movies centered on a group that has to commit a theft.
It prevails a tone that is moving (the three protagonists are really unlucky) to the limit of  pathetic, lightened by several really hilarious moments.
The acting (of course) is of the highest level.
Although the film is remarkable, I think that it did not succeed in achieving perfection and that it remains a well-done mix of cliches. Realizing that it is a remake, I'd like to watch the original assuming it is superior to the remake, though it seems to be different in some key points, including the ending.
