Silent Hill 2

In definitiva però l'ho trovata carina.
Quindi sarebbero stati sicuramente inadatti a una giocatrice inesperta come me.

Silent Hill 2 is a 2002 survival horror video game for Play Station 2.
Before proceeding with the review I need to do a premise: I hate horror and I'm a noob towards videogames. I was convinced to play by my friends and Siobahn Tapirullant (which instead is very good with video games and loves horror. He has wrote a post about all the Silent Hill here) who promised me a  groupplay to make it it less scary and telling me that it is a video game with nice story.
The story follows James Sunderland who, after receiving a letter from his dead wife, goes to Silent Hill, hoping to find her somehow. But Silent Hill is not a normal city and the more James explores it, the more disturbing and mysterious events happen. Depending on the choices you make during the game you can unlock three major finals and three secondaries. It's in this game that appears for the first time as the antagonist the character of Pyramid Head, then exploited also in the films inspired by the series and in the sixth chapter of the video game.
Honestly, listening to my friends, I expected a more complex plot, but I have a few videogame references. Ultimately, however, I found it nice. At the level of fear, I didn't have any problem, but I imagine that playing by yourself using the controls the anxiety should be higher. However from that point of view I would say that even people who get scared quite easily can play it (maybe better not children, also for the references to sexual violence).
Since I didn't use the commands, my comment on that is necessarily second-hand, but it seems that they are stiff and not particularly intuitive. So they would be definitely unsuitable for an inexperienced player like me. The gameplay consists primarily in the exploration of the environment in which the player also has to solve puzzles and avoid being killed by the monsters (usually it is best to dodge them than face them). The explorations are often long and they are made difficult by the third person camera that changes spontaneously point of view to create scary effects. Those parts are likely to become boring, fortunately most of the time they are interruped by the intervention of a character or a monster or a puzzle.
I found it a good game, but, given the type, it is definitely not a product for everyone, but something that is very personal.
