Orphan Black

OrphanBlack is a 2013 Canadian television series currently consisting of 2 seasons of 20 episodes lasting 45 minutes each.
The story uses a lot of twists and turns, so I can tell you just the beginning not to spoil it. The main character is Sarah Manning, a girl who lives by committing petty crimes, with difficult relationships with her adoptive mother, who thinks of her as irresponsible and prevents her from meeting ker daughter Kira, and her boyfriend Vic, involved in drug dealing. Her only working relationship is with her foster brother Felix, artsy, homosexual and no stranger to the world of petty crime of his sister. One evening Sarah, while at the station, sees a woman commit suicide by throwing herself under a train. The woman is so similar to her to be creepy, but Sarah sees in this an opportunity to start a new life. She steals the bag abandoned by the suicide with all of her documents and pretends to be her to clean up her bank account. But doing so she slips straight into a bigger problem, for Beth, the suicide, was conducting a very dangerous investigation and the similarity between the two women is not a coincidence...
Thus begins a very compelling story of intrigue and action, with a bit of science fiction.
More than a show, it's a long film: there is no real episodes structure and it lacks even a season finale that closes some doors. The twists happen continuously and the plot proceeds without fillers or stretchings. The show owes a great deal to Tatiana Maslany who plays the protagonist and her look-alike, managing to seem really two (or more) different people with the same face.
It's so involving that I devoured the first seeries even though it's not my usual thing and I'm very curious to watch the second.

I've heard so much about this show! Internet feminists really love it for some reason. Maybe I should give up on Doctor Who and try this instead (no matter how much I try, Doctor Who is totally just a kids' show for me) :)

I think the same about Doctor Who, I just don't get all the hype about him.
This tv series features strong women, but I don't think it can be really called feminist. Anyway I liked it.

@Acalia: eh, lascia perdere!

@Pepperoni: I didn't knew that! Thank you for saying me!
