Not Totoro shoes: tale of a shoe printing failure

During my trip to Japan at the beginning of September, I went to Ghibli Museum, which I bought really expensive little Totoro stamps with the idea of using them to print a pair of canvas shoes I had bought for cheap this summer.
I started to print the shoes with too much enthusiasm, without enough testing. Perhaps the stamps were too small, perhaps I used an ink that was too thick or perhaps the fault was of the surface of the shoes, the fact is that the print came out badly. Luckily I had started printing from the inside part that is less noticeable, so I decided to stop shortly after.

I already started printing, however, so I decided to finish the job with the stamps I made, a fungus and an acorn on the front and a squirrel on the outside part.
Then I filled the shoes with balled newspapers and I ironed the fabric, making sure not to melt the plastic with the heat of the iron.
They aren't the shoes I wanted, but in the end they are cute anyway.
