L'era glaciale: in rotta di collisione/Ice Age: Collision Course

"L'era glaciale" (2002) è uno dei miei cartoni preferiti di sempre. Il secondo film della serie (2006) non mi è piaciuto granché. Ho trovato abbastanza simpatico il terzo, ma il quarto terrificante. Nonostante questo, non ho imparato dai miei errori e sono andata a vedere al cinema il quinto film della serie, "L'era glaciale: in rotta di collisione" (2016), più che altro per via del divertentissimo spezzone con lo scoiattolo Scrat e il suo eterno inseguimento della ghianda che avevo visto al cinema 4D di Gardaland (e che aveva ben poco a che fare con il film).
Secondo me il vero problema della serie sono i mammut, tutti assolutamente insopportabili tranne Manny. Peccato che dal secondo film le loro vicende familiari diventino il centro della saga, con tanto di morale banale e melensa.
Contagiati da questo lessico familiare di pachidermi pelosi, anche gli altri personaggi si sono trasformati in principesse Disney il cui unico interesse è trovare il Vero Amore e riprodursi.
Non aiuta nemmeno che la minaccia che muove le vicende, ma soprattutto la sua risoluzione sia sempre più improbabile, e nemmeno i cattivi totalmente privi di spessore.
Ho avuto perplessità anche sulle battute su hashtag, foto del profilo e simili, carine per strizzare l'occhio ad un pubblico moderno, ma assolutamente insensate nel contesto preistorico.
Ho trovato divertenti solo le parti dedicate a Scrat, stavolta ambientate nello spazio, anche se, come dice un mio amico, c'è solo un numero limitato di situazioni divertenti basate su di un determinato presupposto, e qui lo si sta raggiungendo. Niente male invece il nuovo personaggio del coniglio e il suo rapporto con la nonna di Scrat.
In definitiva vi sconsiglio di vedere questo film al cinema, ma se avete un'ora e mezza di tempo da passare con bambini o se volete un film da tenere come sottofondo mentre fate altro potete anche vederlo, senza troppe aspettative.

"Ice Age" (2002) is one of my favorite animated films of all time. I did not like muchThe second film of the series (2006). I found the third funny enough, but the fourth awful. Despite this, I didn't learn from my mistakes and I went to watch the the fifth film of the series, "Ice Age: Collision Course" (2016), mostly because of the hilarious segment with the squirrel Scrat and his eternal pursuit of the acorn (that had very little to do with the actual movie) that I saw at the 4D cinema of Gardaland, a famous italian amusement park.
I think the real issue of the series are the mammoths, who are all absolutely unbearable except for Manny. Too bad that from the second film their family problems may become the center of the saga, complete with a trite and saccharine kind of morality.
Infected by the hairy pachyderms, the other characters become Disney princesses whose only interest is to find True Love and reproduce themselves.
It does not helpthat the threat that moves the story, but especially its resolution is increasingly unlikely, and that even the bad guys are totally flat.
I also had doubts about the jokes about hashtags, profile photos and the like, a nice wink to a modern audience, but absolutely meaningless in the prehistoric context.
I found funny only the parts dedicated to Scrat, this time set in space, even if, as one friend of mine says, there is only a limited number of amusing situations based on a certain premise, and in this case they're reaching it. However I found quite nice the new character of the rabbit and his relationship with Scrat's grandmother.
Ultimately I do not recommend watching this film at the cinema, but if you have an hour and a half of time to spend with children or if you want a movie in the background while you do other studd you can watch it without too many expectations.
