Secondo me il target ideale è sui 12-14 anni.

"Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is a fantasy saga consisting of five books written by Rick Riordan between 2005 and 2009.
The protagonist is Percy Jackson, a twelve year old American dyslexic to whom happen strange incidents that regularly get him expelled from school. Until he discovers that the Greek myths are all true, the Olympians exist and the father who he has never known is one of them. So Percy is forced by circumstances to take refuge in a summer camp that turns out to be the demigods training camp. But, when everything seems to be going right, Percy discovers he could be the hero of a great prophecy, the one that could save or destroy Olympus. This brings him all sorts of trouble and adventures with his best friend, Grover the satyr, and Annabeth, daughter of Athena.
I found it a very nice saga, although quite childish, because the characters do not have a real evolution, there practically aren't corpses or blood even though there are tons of killings because the dead become dust (and because of a number of other reasons that I can not list to avoid spoilers). In my opinion the ideal target is about 12-14 year olds.
That aside, what bothered me was the nationalism and all the talk about "Western civilization": in fact in the book the Greek gods are a kind of manifestation of Western civilization, that manifests itself in the most powerful Western country, so, of course, in the USA. In short, a bit forced and frankly annoying.
InsteadWhat I liked most, and the reason I think it is worth reading this saga, is the humor, childish, and quite cheap, but in my opinion stupid enough to be funny: there are Centaurs with curlersin the tail, an Ares with biker clothing, Parcae dressed as a hippies, a Demeter with the fixation ofeating cereals and so on.
From "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" were made two films, on which I have not heard great opinions, but that I haven't seen yet.
In addition to the five books of the saga, Riodan wrote several spin-offs, a sequel ("The Heroes of Olympus") and a number of other novels set in the same universe but about the Egyptian and Nordic gods.

Sai...
