Penny loafers--->Mocassini indiani/Penny loafers-->Indian moccasins

Last week I showed you how to make a fast and reversible shoes alteration covering with fabric any free "strap", which can be ankle straps or the strap of mary janes  or the strap of penny loafers.
The idea of today is based on that tutorial, that you can find here:
http://conigliodellamoda.blogspot.it/2013/06/modifica-veloce-e-reversibile-per.html
This project is designed specifically for loafers.

What changes is that for this project you should use as material leather or pile (which looks a little bit as suede) that do not fray, so you haven't to add inches for the edges.
Instead of making a square high three times the thickness of the strap, keep it much longer. The snaps must be applied so that the fabric forms a roll around the band, but leaving a surplus in the upper part facing towards the tip of the shoes (sorry, evem in this case the phase by phase photos died with my old pc).
Once applied the snaps,  the surplus part which does not cover the strap must be cut in fringes and adapted to the shape of the shoe (I've rounded it).
At this point you have moccasins (which can always go back to normal loafers).

If you want you can further embellish and decorate the part that covers the strap (and therefore is not cut in fringes). I chose a pseudo Indian pattern made with beads of various kinds ^^
I wanted Indian moccasins from ages!!
