London: day 5

On the last day Prociona made me for breakfast savory muffin with seeds, which I ate with taramosalada that I had bought at Marks & Spencer. I ate them to the accompaniment of elderberry juice, which I found good (and even a cup of milky coffee).
Italians usually don't like savory breackfast, but they are my favorite ones.

Because of works on the underground network we had to give up on the  House Museum and on eating at the Vietnamese restaurant. How sad!
So we headed to the Docklands Museum, finding a bizarre floating church parked in front of it.

The museum collection wasn't so rich, but I loved it for the reconstruction of historic environments. I could walk in a port street of 1700 and hide in an air raid bunker of World War II. It was exciting!

The museum shop was selling -together with a lot of Pirate themed junk- interesting historical reconstructions of WWII newspapers, booklets rations, documents and so on.

Since it was late, we decided to go to have lunch at the huge department store in Stratford, near to the bus stop for the airport.
To stay light before the departure (and console myself for not having eaten Vietnamese) I opted for Japanese food at the Umai by Japan Centre. Obviously, we could not hold back and ate way too much.
We got some pretty good gyoza, a really really good teriyaki tofu and a ramen that unfortunately was not great (the noodles in various points had merged in a lump).
I also took mixed maki, but I couldn't eat them, so I took them away for dinner. They were not bad at all.

Before leaving, however, even if I was exploding, I absolutely had to try a drink that I had seen many times on the internet and that intrigued me a lot: bubble tea.
It is tea in various flavors, with or without milk, hot or cold, with balls of tapioca inside.
We went to buy it at Bubbleology, and it seemed to be a super trendy thing because there was a line so long that I wasn't able to go to Marks & Spencer to buy some English food to take home.
Luckily I've been satisfied! I chose lychee tea, which was yummy. The balls of tapioca had a rubbery texture (similar to that of mochi), but they were not bad.
And, with this last binge, I said goodbye to London and to Prociona, hoping to return soon.
