Lacey green, tights and another comic about food

Due sabati fa sono andata a fare la spesa al mercato di Papiniano e mi è scappato qualche acquisto anche fra le bancarelle dedicate all'abbigliamento.

Ad una bancarella dell'usato ho comprato questo bellissimo vestito di pizzo verde foresta con bottoncini sul retro di H&M a soli 3€.

Two Saturdays ago I went grocery shopping at Papiniano street market and I did some shopping also among the stalls dedicated to clothing.

At an used clothing stall I bought this beautiful forest green lace dress with buttons on the back by H&M for just 3€.

Ho anche comprato 3 paia di collant, uno nero a pois bianchi e due di pizzo da usare al mio matrimonio in caso facesse freddo. Ho pagato in totale 6€.

I also bought three pairs of tights, a black one with white polka dots and two lace ones to use at my wedding if it's cold. I paid a total of 6€.

Grazie ad un'occasione sul sito del Libraccio ho comprato usato a poco più di metà prezzo e senza spese di spedizione "Seconds" di Bryan Lee O'Malley, autore diventato famoso con "Scott Pilgrim". L'edizione italiana è pubblicata da Rizzoli Lizard.

Questo fumetto racconta la storia di Katie, una giovane chef che dirige la cucina di un ristorantino chiamato Seconds, ma lavora duro per aprire un locale tutto suo in un vecchio edificio lungo il fiume.

Tra preoccupazioni, stress e una vita sentimentale disastrosa Katie è in crisi... finché non incontra uno spiritello che le offre una facile scappatoia per "correggere" il passato e rimediare ai propri errori. Ovviamente però ogni cosa ha un prezzo e Katie dovrà fare i conti con le sue scelte.

"Seconds" mi è stato consigliato da persone di cui mi fido, la storia sembra interessante e mi piace il tratto tondeggiante dell'autore. In più amo i fumetti dedicati al cibo (anche se qualcuno mi ha detto che l'occupazione di Katie non è davvero rilevante per la trama). Non vedo l'ora di leggerlo!

This comic tells the story of Katie, a young chef who runs the kitchen of a restaurant called Seconds, but works hard to open a place of her own in an old building along the river.

Among concerns, stress and a disastrous love life Katie is in crisis... until she meets a sprite who offers her an easy way to "correct" the past and make up for her mistakes. But of course everything has a price and Katie will have to deal with her choices.

"Seconds" was recommended me by people I trust, the story seems interesting and I love the author's round drawing style. Plus I love comic books about food (although someone told me that Katie's occupation is not really relevant to the plot). I can not wait to read it!
