Come vestirsi per l'EXPO/What to wear to visit EXPO

If you go to visit EXPO what to wear is a problem that you shouldn't underestimate because you have to spend a day walking in an environment that is not easy to frame, between indoor and outdoor parts, parasols...
In the picture you see what I wore (at that time I was in the Japanese pavilion). It was not a perfect choice, but thanks to my mistakes I can give you some advice.

  • hat: if you go in summer a hat is very useful to shield your head during the queques at the entrance or to the halls and when you come out from the shadow of the main corridor. I think the fresher choice is a straw one, but a fabric hat that can be folded and put in the bag might be more practical
  • Wear pants and not a skirt, especially if you want to visit the Brazil pavilion and walk on the hanging net, so that people can not see your panties. Plus, pants prevent bare thighs from rubbing against each other, which is very annoying if it's hot.
  • comfortable shoes with thick soles.
Remember that at the entrance there are controls with a metal detector similar to airports' and you mustn't introduce the same objects that you cann't carry on planes: knives, bombs... The most annoying ban is on liquids exceeding 100 ml. However, I recommend to bring an empty water bottle or a glass because there are many distributors of free sparkling and natural fresh water.
