Istanbul: shopping

Since when I was in Istanbul the Turkish Lira-Euro exchange rate was very favorable (slightly less than 1 to 3), I did a lot of shopping. In fact, most of it was the classic last day shopping to finish the foreign money.
I bought three pairs of earrings in a gift shop in Ebussuut Caddesi, one for me and the others for my mom. They are super fake, but from a distance they do a great effect.
In Galata Kulesi, the road uphill to get to the tower of Galata, I bought in two different stores three rings, all for me.

I bought these three T-shirts in a store named Apayri in Ankara Caddesi, next to the stop of Sirkeci. I had already bought there a t-shirt for my brother and I bought these three have all the last day, but in two different moments so the seller was very amused to see me hesitate, and then come back three times. The first costed 5TL, the other two 10.

Li ho pagati 15TL.

I bought these pants in the frenzy of the last day in Soguk Cesme Sokak, a beautiful little street full of bars where to smoke the nargile, shops and Ottoman style wooden houses, including a restaurant built on a Byzantine cistern. I paid them 15TL.

Ho comprato questi calzini in un supermercato dove ci eravamo fermati a comprare l'acqua. Ci volevano proprio perché mi si stanno bucando tutti. Li ho pagati 3TL al paio.

I bought these socks in a supermarket where we stopped to buy water. I'm really happy of them because I'm piercing all my pairs.

I got these shoes for 15TL at the spice market and it was a mistake. They are not very well done, but I liked them and I was convinced that it was the wrong size. Instead, they are too big. At the moment I'm hoping to shrink them a size (some advice?) without having to spend more than a couple of euros, Otherwise I'll exchange or donate them,

In the area of the Galata tower I also got an adorable and soft eye mask in the shape of a panda for 3TL. I also bought a box of rose sweets with bits of pistachio, but I did not liked them as those of the spice market, the powdered sugar covers the flavors and in any case they taste too little of rose.

In the same area on the last day we decided to get rid of a few bucks by buying spices and a grinder for 35TL, a lot by local standards, but much less than in Italy. The set also contains spices that I needed and interesting mixes.

In Galata I also took another pair of finer earrings for my mother and I got a free Koran in English from a group that distributed them to make people learn about Islam.
At the port I made the Hairy Half buy me a pair of fake Prada sunglasses that costed 5TL because I was in love with the curled sidepieces (even if I do not wear the lenses often enough to justify the purchase).

I also bought a bookmark and a spinning top for my father, a T-shirt and a keychain for my brother, postcards for my grandmothers and a couple of friends and a flower tea to use as a gift.
