Kera: the end?

http://tokyo-fashion.tumblr.com/post/158958234438/harajuku-subculture-magazine-kera-to-cease-print

On the instagram page of the excellent Tokyo Fashion I read the announcement of the closure of Kera, a monthly fashion magazine founded in 1998, based on Harajuku street style, in particular subcultures such as punk, goth and lolita. Kera is also publisher of Kera Maniax and Kera Boys and since 2001 also of the Gothic and Lolita Bible, a quarterly magazine dedicated to gothic lolita.
The last print issue of Kera will be released on April 15th, and after it the magazine will be published online. But Gothic and Lolita Bible will close permanently after May 24th issue.
On May 16th, 2017, Kera will begin publishing content through a "complete website", which will include a digital magazine and various social media. The popular e-commerce site KERA Shop and collaborations with other shops and fashion brands in Japan will continue.
Although it is not a true closure it is another very strong sign of the crisis of japanese street fashion because Kera was one of the most successful magazines.
In recent years many fashion magazines related to Harajuku and Shinjuku styles closed (FRUiTS closed only last month), and there seems to be a regression also regarding the physical stores.
Japanese youth fashion in general is still quite interesting and vital (as Larme magazine and genderless kei prove), but it is virtually defunct compared to five years ago when it was a continuous birth of new trends and styles, each with its own leading magazine.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear it :/ But it doesn't necessarily mean that Japanese street fashion is dying out, just that technology is moving on - paper magazines are selling less and less in all countries now, since you can get the same information for free on the internet. Not to mention that by the time a magazine is published every month, whatever is inside is probably already out of date because of how fast things change these days!

(I wonder if the online content will be easier for foreigners like us to access, though... >.>)

Also, I wanted to say congratulations on your upcoming marriage! Feels like only yesterday that you said you felt too young ;) I'm so, so pleased for you - you hairy halves (or, hairy half and less hairy half?) are clearly made for each other *biggest hugs* <3

I like your line of tought, I think what you say is absolutely possible! But I fear it will become even more difficult for foreigners to access, especially if they require a subscription of some kind.

Thank you! It's strange how things change in a short time. Maybe is because next year I turn 30 XD But I manage to still feel like a kindergartener and in fact a dinosaur themed wedding suits me perfectly.
Thank you! (Yes, definitely mammal gotta be hairy, whatever the beauty industry says XD)
