Corti animati a tema cibo: breve recensione della rassegna del TCBF/Short review of the animated food themed short films at TCBF

The Association Cineforum Labirinto, founded in 2009 in order to propose a valid alternative to traditional sources of information and film culture in the city of Treviso, on the occasion of the Treviso Comic Book Festival proposed a series of animated food themed short films.
Here is a brief review of each one:
1) "French Roast" by the french house  The Pumphin Factory, winner of several prizes, very nice both aesthetically and regarding the story.
2) "Miel Bleu" by the french Daphné Durocher, Constance Joliff, Fanny Lhotellier of the Georges Méliès School, aesthetically cute and politically committed, but without a final worthy of this name.
3) "Chicken or the egg" by Christine Kim and Elaine Wu, very romantic, not particularly original, but still really cute.
4) "Phoenix medium rare," directed by Niall Byrne, instead left me indifferent if not a bit distressed, both for the story and because I did not like the aesthetics of the human character.
5) "A petit plat pour l'homme" was very cute, but also without ending, a kind of graduate thesis for Supinfocom Arles by Corinni Charron's.
6) The 1941 classic "Chef Donald" made all the audience laugh.
7) Then there where various shorts by Pes, signature of the U.S.A. author Adam Pesapane: "Fresh Guacamole", "Western Spaghetti", "Submarine Sandwich". I found them simply genial at the visual level, while there was no real plot.
8) The series of shorts ended with "Fugu", a one-minute animated film directed by Arthur Philippe in 2012, quite nice.
