I miei primi acquisti da Decathlon e Stradivarius/first shopping at Decathlon and Stradivarius

Per prima cosa scusate le foto schifose, le ho fatte con la webcam perchè ho la macchina foto a caricare e fra poco mi devo lanciare sul treno per il mare.

First of all, sorry for the crappy photos, I did them with the webcam as my camera is on charge and I have to jump on a train for the seaside in a few hours.

Per la prima volta nella mia vita ho comprato qualcosa da Decathlon perchè mi serviva un impermeabile leggero per andare in Irlanda (ebbene sììììì!). Però per non averlo moscissimamente e banalmente nero sono dovuta andare nel reparto bambini. E'costato 13€ circa.

For the first time in my life I bought something at Decathlon, because I needed a k-way for Ireland (oh yeeeeees!). But as I didn't want to buy it in black I had to go in the children rep. It costed around 13€.

E restando sulle prime volte, finalmente ho comprato qualcosa da Stradivarius (per i milanesi sto parlando di quello in Buenos Aires)! Hanno ribassato ulteriormente i prezzi. I calzini (sì sono fissata sia sulle calze sia sul traforato) costavano 99 cent, e anello e collana (a me sembra una zanna, ma mio padre dice che è un cornetto portafortuna -_-') 1,99€.

And I shopped at Stradivarius for the first time too! They dropped the prices again. The socks were 99 cent (yes, I'm obsessed by both socks and crochet) and the ring and the necklace (for me it's a fang, but my father said it looks like a horn-shaped amulet -_-') were 1,99€ each.

Restringere un vestito con i fiocchi/Fit adjustment with ribbons

Scusate se non sono molto presente ultimamente, sarò via probabilmente tutto agosto e sono presa da valigie, problemi organizzativi e preparativi di vario genere (oggi ho messo in naftalina i maglioni con sommo gaudio).

Sorry if I didn't post so much lately, but in August I'll never be at home so I'm getting the luggages ready, solving problems and doing some chores (today I put all my sweaters in plastic bags with mothballs with an enormous joy).

2 weekend fa, ho comprato questa salopette al mare. Come vedete mi fa uno strano sbuffo sulla schiena, probabilmente perchè mi ostino a comprare vestiti large anche se una taglia in meno andrebbe benissimo.

2 weekends ago I bought this playsuit. As you can see the fit isn't so right as there's a strange puff on the back, probably because I persist in buyng oversized clothes even if a normal size is better.

Ho fatto qualche prova con una molletta per capelli per vedere come risolvere la situazione.

I did some experiments with a hairpin to see how to solve the situation.


Alla fine come al solito ho optato per una soluzione con il pizzo. Il motto della mia casata potrebbe essere "se fai una castroneria coprila di pizzo" XD Ho attaccato due nastri di pizzo uguali a una distanza dal centro della salopette che avevo calcolato con la molletta per capelli.

In the end I choose lace as a solution. My family's motto could be "if you do a stupid error cover it with lace" XD I sewed two lace ribbons of the same length at the same distance from the center of the playsuit, a distance I calculated using the hairpin.


Così facendo il fiocco è venuto un bel fiocco che ha tirato il tessuto in modo da nascondere quello in eccesso!
E' una soluzione semplice che si può facilmente applicare ad altri tipi di indumenti, per esempio anche ad una semplice maglietta, magari usando due fiocchi invece di uno. Ovviamente al pizzo si può sostituire un nastro in un materiale qualunque.

And when I knotted them in a bow they stretched the fabric so that the strange puff disappeared!
It's a simple solution, that can be used with other kinds of clothes like t-shirts, maybe with more than one bow. Obviously you can use the kind of ribbon you prefer, not only lace!

Weekend al mare 3/Weekend at the seaside 3

Questo weekend sostanzialmente ho riciclato un po'di vestiti che vagavano senza stare a
inventarmi niente di che, anche perchè non abbiamo fatto cose particolari e il tempo era anche bruttino (alè). Quindi un paio di "come mi sono vestita" (approvo la campagna "riintegriamo l'italiano nel mondo della moda" di Saidori) è tutto quello che ho da offrire. Conto sul palio medievale del prossimo weekend *_*

This weekend I substantially reused the clothes I already had around and didn't try anything new. This was also because we didn't do anything special and the weather wasn't so good too (alè). So I can only post a pair of outfit. I hope to go to a medieval festival next weekend *_*

Sciarpine con bottone/Scarves with button

Ho dato il colpo di grazia alle mie nuove lane con queste sciarpine con bottone. Molto più veloci delle sciarpe normali e di sicuro effetto, soprattutto usando una lana pelosa o con i pon pon! Purtroppo la prima non è per me, spero di ritrovare quella lana perchè me ne sono innamorata (e ho un cappellino miseramente a metà perchè mi è finita -.-).

I finished my new yarns making these scarves with button. They're much quicker to make than normal scarves and look surprisingli good, in particular if you make them with particular yarn like fluffy or pompom ones. Sadly the first isn't for me, but I hope to find it again because I loved it (and it finished before I could end my new hat -.-).

Ieri sera per distrarmi mentre i miei amici sgranocchiavano patatine (mezzo chilo alla meta!) ho fatto un altro elastico per capelli a pon pon con la mia nuova lana seguendo questo tutorial

E stamattina ho fatto un altro collarino riuscendo a fare i casini più inimmaginabili scucendo e ricucendo tutto più volte. Oggi non ne faccio una giusta. Chissà poi quando metterò una cosa del genere...ma mi piace

And this morning I did another chocher doing a lot of stupid errors so that I have to sew, cut and sew again most parts. Today I don't do anythig right. And I don't know when I'll wear something like this...but I like it

Retro fairy kei

Oggi è il compleanno della Pelosa Metà, così ne ho approfittato per vestirmi in modo particolarmente delirante XD La felpina è perchè ieri sera ha piovuto e stamattina faceva freschino. E mi sono di nuovo tagliata la frangia corta corta.
Abbiamo fatto colazione al bar (cappuccino e pain au chocolat *_*) e stasera vagonate di sushi d'asporto e il mio speciale tiramisù!...sembra quasi il MIO compleanno XD

Today it's Hairy Half's birthday, so I dressed up in a particularly crazy way XD I have a sweater because yesterday night it rained and this morning it was a bit cold. And I cut my fringe short again.
We ate breackfast at a bar (cappuccino and pain au chocolat *_*) and this evening we'll have a lot of take away sushi and my special tiramisù!...seems like MY birthday XD

Somen

Ieri sera ho provato a riprodurre un piatto estivo che avevo mangiato in Giappone un paio di anni fa, i somen, e visto che mi è venuto bene condivido! E' un piatto vegetariano, quindi è particolarmente adatto anche per chi ha esigenze alimentari particolari (vegetariani, ebrei, musulmani...).
INGREDIENTI
- somen (io ho usato dei noodles sostitutivi e non erano male. Ne ho usati 340g per 3 persone e le porzioni sono venute abbondanti)
- soia
- wasabi
- cipollotti
- ghiaccio

Yesterday evening I tried to cook a summer dish I ate in Japan a couple of years ago, somen, and as I did it right I'm sharing the recipe! It's a vegetarian dish, so it's suitable even for people with particular food rules (vegetarians, Jewish, Muslims...).
INGREDIENTS
- somen (I used noodles as a substitute and they were yummy. I used 340gr for 3 people and we had full plates)
- soy
- wasabi
- spring onions
- ice

Come pasta ho comprato questi noodles. In realtà vendevano direttamente i somen, ma sembravano più sottili di quelli che avevo mangiato in Giappone.

I used these noodles as a somen substitute. In the shop they sold real somen, but they seemed different from the ones I ate in Japan, so I bought this kind of pasta.

Tagliate i cipollotti a rondelle sottili. I giapponesi usano solo il verde, ma a me sembrava uno spreco buttare il bianco (però potete sempre tenerlo per un soffritto o una frittata).

Cut the spring onions in thin slices. Japanese people only use the green part, but I tought it was a waste (you can also use the white parts to put it in a different dish, like omelettes).


Procuratevi tante tazzine/bicchieri quanti sono i commensali per metterci la salsa che preparerete con soia annacquata e ghiaccio. Ogni commensale può aggiungere a piacere wasabi e cipollotti alla salsa base secondo il suo gusto. Non riempite troppo le tazzine perchè bisogna pucciarci la pasta, quindi rischiano di traboccare.

Find a cup for each people and put in each one a sauce made of watered down soy sauce, ice. Each guest adds sliced spring onions and wasabi as he please. Don't fill the cups because you'll have to dip the noodles in them and if they're too full they'll spill over.


Bollite la pasta per quanto indicato sulla confezione, scolatela in uno scolapasta e raffreddatela sotto l'acqua fredda. Va servita nello scolapasta (sotto cui è il caso di mettere una ciotola perchè non goccioli sul tavolo) con cubetti di ghiaccio.

Boil the noodles as written on the packet, drain it in a colander and cool it down under cold water. It has to be served in the colander (put a bowl under it to prevent it from dripping on the table) with ice cubes.

Ogni bacchettata di pasta dev'essere pucciata nella tazzina della salsa. Aggiungete ghiaccio ogni tanto. Buon appetito!!!

Each mouthful of somen has to be dipped in the sauce cup. Add ice during the meal. Enjoy your meal!!!

Autumn trends (first try)

Visto che di recente mi sono imbattuta in un articolo che parlava delle tendenze autunnali, mi è venuto in mente che l'anno scorso in questo stesso mese sapevo tutto dello stile dell'autunno/inverno 2010 grazie ad accanite letture di riviste di moda. E infatti ho passato l'estate a sentirmi fuori stagione XD
Quest'anno in spiaggia preferisco portarmi Le Cronache del Ghiaccio e del Fuoco (più che altro mi è difficile staccarmene...), ma ho comunque dato un'occhiata alle nuove collezioni di H&M, Zara, Promod, Cache cache, Tally Weijl, Stradivarius, Twin set e Pimkie trovando un po'di punti in comune:
- ai classici nero, grigio e marrone si aggiungono colori più caldi, in particolare lo zafferano, ma anche il bordeaux e il prugna. Il blu petrolio continuerà ad avere successo.
- gonne lunghe e pantaloni a zampa fluenti
- accessori in pelle marrone (in particolare cinture in pelle marrone, spesso intrecciate)
- pelliccia, anche solo dettagli
- tocchi etnici (ad esempio stivali con frange, poncho, piume...)
- righe e scozzese/quadretti
- scarponcini stringati
- pelle nera
- lana
- accessori ispirati agli animali della foresta, sulla scia della tendenza dell'anno scorso
Se ci ho azzeccato, lo stile di quest'autunno mi piacerà un sacco!!!

Since I recently came across an article that spoke of autumn trends, I remembered that last year in July I knew everything of 2010 style for fall/winter due to fierce reading of fashion magazines. In fact, I spent the summer feeling off-season XD
This year I prefer to take A Song of Ice and Fire (mostly it's hard to break away ...) on the beach, but I still looked at the new collections for H & M, Zara, Stradivarius, Promod, Twin set, Cache Cache, Tally Weijl and Pimkie finding a bit of common points:
- The classic colorway of black, gray and brown color will be enriched by warmer shades, in particular saffron, but there will be burgundy and plum too. Petrol blue will continue to have success
- Flowing long skirts and bell bottom pants
- Brown leather accessories (especially leather belts, often intertwined)
- Fur, even if only details
- Ethnic touches (for example boots with fringes, ponchos, feathers ...)
- Knitted items
- Plaid/gingham
- Laced up boots
- Black leather
- Accessories inspired by animals of the forest, following last year's trend
If I've guessed, I'll love this fall's style a lot!

Creme solari/Sunscreen

Già che siamo in estate è il caso di parlare di creme solari! La mia preferita è crema spray dell'Aveeno in barattolo arancione. Ha un odore delizioso e soprattutto non lascia la pelle tutta appiccicaticcia. In più è molto concentrata e un barattolo dura un sacco di tempo.
Visto che sono bianca come un foglio di carta e d'estate mi vengono le lentiggini, la dermatologa mi ha consigliato di usarla tutti i giorni come se fosse un'idratante. In realtà in inverno di solito evito, ma d'estate lo faccio volentieri, anche se, per chi ha una pelle molto secca come me, come idratante non è un granchè.
In realtà quotidianamente non uso l'hydrosport della foto, ma la versione "normal", che in acqua tende a sparire dopo un po'.
Quando sono al mare preferisco usare la Nivea spray 50+ per bambini, quella che "dove sei blu non diventerai rosso" che tiene benissimo l'acqua, protegge dal sole e soprattutto costa meno (che quando se ne usa tanta come al mare è un criterio rilevante). Infatti le creme dell'Aveeno sono piuttosto care.
Io di solito le compro in farmacia. Quest'anno davano in regalo anche un pallone da spiaggia! Lo scorso weekend al mare non l'ho mollato un secondo, in puro stile bambina di 3 anni...
Voi che crema solare usate? Ci tenete di più a non scottarvi o ad abbronzarvi?
La mia risposta la sapete già, ma d'altronde anche se passassi mesi ai caraibi al mio ritorno la gente mi chiederebbe lo stesso "ma sei stata in città tutta l'estate?" come succede ogni autunno -.-


Il pallone omaggio/The ball that came as a freebie

As it's summer, let's talk about sunscreens! My favourite is the spray one by Aveeno in the orange bottle. It has a delicious smell and above all it doesn't make the skin all greasy and sticky as common sunscreens. It's very concentrated and a bottle lasts a lot.
As my skin is white as paper and in summer I get freackles on my nose, the dermatologist said me to use it daily as it was a normal moisturizer. I don't really use it everyday in winter, but in summer I do it quite pleasantly, even if, having a really dry skin, it isn't good enough as a moisturizer.
To tell the truth I don't use the hydrosport version of the above photo, but the "normal" one, that in the water tend to go away after a bit. So, when I'm at the seaside I prefer to use the Nivea's 50+ spray sunscreen for children, the "where you're blue you won't turn red" one, that sticks very well even in the water, protects the skin well from bruising and, above all, costs less (an important thing if you have to use a lot of sunscreen as at the seaside). Infact Aveeno's sunscreens are quite expensive.
Normally I buy them in pharmacy. This year they gave me an inflatable ball as a freebie! Last weekend I took it with me everywere like a 3 years old...
What sunscreen do you use? Do you give more importance to tan or to skin protection?
You already know my answer, but it's a simple choiche as I can't tan even if I want. Even if I'd go to a Caribbean island for months, when I come back people would ask me if I spent my summer at home, as every year -.-

Weekend al mare 2/Weekend at the seaside 2

Abbiamo dormito sul tetto, è stato stupendo!!! :D Notare il mio alieno di pelouche.
Purtroppo il tempo non è stato bellissimo, così abbiamo fatto il bagno solo il primo giorno.

Sadly the weather wasn't so nice, so we swam in the sea only on the first day.

Ho scoperto che la mia geniale idea di scegliere un colore base e un tema per limitare la quantità di vestiti in valigia, funziona solo fino ad un certo punto per i weekend. Infatti mi dà fastidio buttare in lavatrice una cosa usata mezza giornata, per cui alcuni vestiti passeranno da un weekend all'altro e non so se potrò scegliere temi distinti per ogni weekend.
Il colore base di questo weekend era il verde militare e il tema era militare-etnico.

I noticed that my smart idea of choosing a basic colour and a theme for my luggage to limit the quantity of clothes, works only half for weekends. Infact I think it's a waste to put in the washing machine something I used only half a day, so some clothes will appear in more than one weekend and maybe I won't have a different theme for each weekend.
This weekend's basic colour was military green and the theme was military-ethnic.

Disgraziata come sono ho anche fatto un po'di shopping. Al mercato del sabato ho preso la salopette a 6€ e i gomitoli a 2€ ciascuno. I pantaloncini li ho presi in un negozio a sempre 6€. In realtà ho speso relativamente poco perchè avevo visto una salopette quasi identica da Pimkie l'anno scorso a 25€ e i pantaloncini a sbuffo al minimo li ho visti a 10€ (per esempio da Terranova), ma avrei preferito che i pantaloncini sbuffassero di più e la salopette mi fa pieghe un po'strane -.- E' irritante.
Con i gomitoli voglio fare un altro cappellorsetto e una sciarpina per il boy. Sono davvero morbidosi *_*

Inveterate as I am, I did some shopping too. At saturday's open air market I bought the shorts for 6€and the balls of wool for 2€each. I bought the shorts for 6€in a shop. I didn't spend so much as last year I saw a really similar overall at Pimkie's for 25€ and I saw this kind of shorts for a minimum of 10€ (for example at Terranova's), but I'd prefer if the shorts were more baloon shaped and the overall is somehow ill fitting -.- Irritating.
With the balls of wool I wanna make another bear hat and a scarf for my bf. They're really soft *_*

Vestito da fata dei boschi/Forest faerie dress

Difficoltà: medio-facile (richieste capacità basiche di cucito o utilizzo della macchina da cucire)
Necessario: stoffa, poco elastico, necessario per cucire, nastri carino, pizzo (opzionale)

Difficulty: medium-easy (basic sewing or sewing machine utilization skills needed)
Materials: fabric, few elastic, sewing material, cute ribbons, lace (optional)

L'idea di base è la stessa della gonna di halloween, solo che in questo caso dovete calcolare la lunghezza di un vestito e non di una gonna. Inoltre realizzerete il buco nel mezzo tagliando un "sorriso" in modo da avere una pettorina davanti (parte convessa) e uno scollo dietro (parte concava).

The pattern is the same of the halloween skirt, the difference is that you have to calculate the lenght of a dress instead than the lenght of a skirt. Plus the hole in the middle of the square has to be cut as a "smile" so that you'll have a sort of bib on the front (convex part) and a cleavage on the back (concave part).

Orlate il buco in mezzo. Aggiungete le spalline. Io le ho realizzate tagliando in due due nastri di colori diversi, che ho poi cucito invertiti in modo che ogni fiocco è fatto da due diversi colori. Poi ho aggiunto del pizzo tutto attorno al buco per coprire l'orlo terribile che ho fatto (buon vecchio trucco!) e rendere lo scollo meno profondo.

Hem the hole in the middle. Add the straps. I did mine cutting in two two differen coloured robbons and sewing them so that each bow is half one colour and half another. Than I added lace all around the hole to cover my horrible hemming (good old trick!) and make the cleavage smaller.

Sul retro, all'interno del vestito, ho cucito fra le bretelle un pezzo di elastico teso al massimo, di modo che una volta lasciato provocasse un'arricciatura che restringendo il vestito lo facesse calzare meglio. Essendo elastica il vestito rimane comodo da infilare senza bisogno di bottoni o zip.

On the back, on the inside of the dress and between the straps, I sewed a piece of elastic, stretching it the most possible, so than when I let it go the dress gathered. It makes the dress fit better without annoyng zippers or buttons.

Visto che le punte del vestito toccavano terra le ho smussate un po' ("Giovanni:....perchè in polizia bisogna avere le palle quadrate! e tu come ce le hai Sugar? Giacomo: Cubiche!

Giovanni: e tu Dexter? Aldo: beh,io veramente le ho smussate un pò agli angoli perchè mi danno fastidio mentre cammino!"...ok la smetto...). Come vedete ho fatto un pessimo taglio, che si è ovviamente tradotto in un pessimo orlo per fare il quale ho fatto anche un sacco di fatica. Quindi badateci.

As the points of the dress touched the ground I beveleded them a bit. As you can see I did a bad cut, so in the end I did another bad hem and I put a lot of effort in it. So be more carful than me!

Voglio metterlo al prossimo capodanno celtico!
